We provide pathways to economic empowerment through equitable access to career opportunities.

About us

STRIVE offers a path to living-wage employment for those seeking to break the cycle of poverty. Founded in East Harlem in 1984, STRIVE offers soft skills, job readiness, and hard skills training, supportive services, and a much-needed sense of hope to individuals facing significant barriers. At the same time, STRIVE helps employers overcome skills gaps, and local governments help their citizens thrive. From the outset, STRIVE International adopted a rigorous approach to job readiness that focused on the behaviors and life situation of individuals with significant challenges. Three decades later, STRIVE’s training and employment model has proven to be a highly flexible approach that works in diverse locations and cultures. Today, STRIVE is offered in 19 U.S. locations as well as overseas, administered by a robust network of community-based organizations and headquartered in New York City. Indigenous Peoples' Day is a day of remembrance and celebration, and we take time to honor the rich culture and history of the indigenous peoples of America and the invaluable contributions they have made to the fabric of our society. We also acknowledge the harmful systemic injustices indigenous peoples continue to face that have left their communities disproportionately disconnected from opportunity. STRIVE stands in solidarity with the indigenous peoples of America and affirm our commitment to providing equitable access to the training and support all people need to find their path to possible. #indigenouspeoplesday #equity #justice

Thank you Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and AT&T for your impactful partnership that helps grads like Jasmine find their pathway to possible. Congratulations Jasmine on a phenomenal journey--keep us posted!

Most opportunities in today’s job market require #DigitalAccess. Thanks to support from AT&T through LISC, Atlanta’s STRIVE opened its new AT&T Digital Lab to boost career development programming offered to community members like Jasmine Harris. Harris dreamed of earning her real estate license but did not have a computer of her own to complete the online coursework necessary to prepare for the exam. That’s where STRIVE and its Digital Lab came into play. For two months, Harris studied hard in the Digital Lab, visiting more than 25 times. She also accessed a loaner laptop through STRIVE so she could study from home. On the day of the test, STRIVE staff helped to proctor her exam, which she passed with flying colors. “Not long ago, I battled with low confidence,” said Harris. “But at STRIVE, I found the support I needed to see my own worth and potential.” Since earning her real estate license, Harris has helped 170 clients purchase homes in the Atlanta area.

Executive Director | National Achiever at JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Last week, I facilitated an incredible roundtable discussion with our Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon, top executives from across the firm and key community partners! 🌟🌟 Reflecting on the past five years of the Chase Harlem Community Center, the insights and ideas shared were truly energizing and highlighted the importance of listening to our community. Five years ago, we set out with a bold vision to move from community banking to community building. Thanks to the dedication and collaboration of our partners, this vision has become a reality. The Harlem Chase Community Center is now a beacon of financial health and community support. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the roundtable. Your contributions are invaluable, and I’m excited for the future we will build together. Here’s to many more years of uplifting our community! #CommunityBuilding #FinancialHealth #Partnerships #JPMorganChase #HarlemCommunity #FutureForward #Wedothisworktogehter #HelloHarlem #IamNYMetro Curtis Archer Philip Weinberg Andrew Rich Dr. Malcolm A.
