Earlier this month, Subway Cares Foundation® Vice Chairman and Subway® Chief Legal Officer Ilene Kobert joined Subway Cares Associate Executive Director Andrea Seek and Marketing & Communications Manager Jeanette Sten to present a check for $25,000 to Connecticut Foodshare. CT Foodshare mobilizes community partners, volunteers, and supporters to fight food insecurity in the state of Connecticut. Last year, 44 million healthy meals were provided to CT residents through CT Foodshare’s network of 650 food pantries, meal programs, and mobile distribution sites. Feeding America's Nationwide network of foodbanks and meal programs is the largest in the country, distributing over 5 billion meals in 2023 alone. The Subway Cares Foundation has granted $5,000 to each of the six food banks in the Feeding America network facing the highest levels of food insecurity. Earlier this year, our dedicated employees came together to raise funds for regional food banks as part of our Subway® Cares Cup charity initiative. We are thrilled to share that the APAC region proudly supported the Philippines Food Bank Foundation. 🤝Thanks to the boundless generosity of our team, we’ve made a remarkable impact on families in need across the Philippines. The Philippines Food Bank Foundation has packed and distributed 1,660 bags filled with enough food to support a family of five for up to two weeks, totaling over 100,000 meals 🍴! The Subway Cares Foundation is proud to provide grant support to la Asociación de Bancos de Alimentos de Colombia (ABACO). This grant will fund the purchase of a truck that can rescue 2 tons of fresh produce from going to waste each day, directly benefiting over 3,000 vulnerable individuals across Colombia. Additionally, the funds will be used to help set up soup kitchens in El Espinal (Tolima) and Cartago (Valle del Cauca). This donation was made possible by the generosity Subway employees during the Subway Cares Cup fundraising competition. Thank you for helping us do good while doing well.
