According to our latest report, 40% don’t engage in a formal approach—highlighting a significant gap in the strategic planning of many organizations. One sales manager candidly shared, “We don’t create what most would call a ‘traditional sales forecast’. Significant events are often kept in our heads rather than being part of a strategic plan.” This informal approach might work in the short term but poses challenges for long-term success. Interestingly, only 10% of manufacturing organizations feel "very confident" in their sales forecasts. The majority (64%) are "somewhat confident," and 25% admit their forecasts often miss the mark.
