Summer Search believes young people should have the opportunity to fulfill their potential, regardless of their circumstances. Young people across the nation possess unique strengths, resilience, and tremendous potential, yet many face systemic inequities that can limit their potential. As a result, their ability to obtain postsecondary degrees, participate in the workforce, or gain financial stability is often stifled. Since 1990, we have partnered with high schools, community-based organizations, families, and supporters to provide opportunities for high school students from low-income communities to overcome systemic inequities through mentoring and transformative experiences. OUR ALUMNI ARE 3 TIMES MORE LIKELY to graduate with a 4-year degree than their peers and become the kind of leaders our country needs—civic leaders, advocates, industry leaders, teachers, mothers, and fathers. Their collective leadership ripples across the community, future generations, and contributes to a more equitable society.

🌟 Reflecting on a Successful Boston Business Leaders Breakfast! 🌟 Last Wednesday, October 9th, Summer Search Boston had the honor of bringing together over 90 attendees at MassBio for an engaging networking breakfast focused on the Life Sciences Industry. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible panelists - Kendalle Burlin O'Connell, Esq. Robert Coughlin, and Stephen Ubl for providing invaluable insights into the current state and future of the sector. When I’m on the road for Global Glimpse I’m usually building new relationships and explaining the world of social impact to private sector leaders. I LOVE this work and at the same time I crave connecting with people that really understand the nonprofit sector. What a breath of fresh air to spend time with the amazing Ursulina Ramirez, CEO of Summer Search yesterday in NYC! We talked about business travel and motherhood, leadership and teambuilding, strategic planning and fundraising. Truly the full scope of nonprofit leadership. Talk about women empowering women! Summer Search is our strongest program partner at Global Glimpse and one of my favorite organizations in the experiential learning space. Since 2011, over 700 of their students have traveled on Global Glimpse programs. Our missions are powerfully aligned and our strengths complementary. We’ve been opening a world of opportunities to young people for more than a decade and I believe we’re just beginning to envision what is possible in this partnership!
