Happy 811 Day! August 11 (8/11) is a great reminder to always call 811 before you dig. Plus, it's a great opportunity for a fun and educational challenge! Do you know your flag tags? When you call 811, utility lines are marked in your yard. Each color flag represents a different type of underground utility: 🔴 Red: Electric power lines, cables, conduit, and lighting cables 🟡 Yellow: Gas, oil, steam, petroleum, or gaseous materials 🟠 Orange: Communication, alarm or signal lines, cables, or conduit 🔵 Blue: Potable water 🟢 Green: Sewers and drain lines 🟣 Purple: Reclaimed water, irrigation, and slurry lines ⚪ White: Proposed excavation sites (always "white line" where you plan to dig!" 🔴 Pink: Temporary survey markings
