Today is National Disability Independence Day. In honor of this important day, which commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) in 1990, we would like to spotlight an incredible Indianapolis-based organization, SAWs (Servants At Work, Inc.) SAWS is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing freedom to people with permanent disabilities in low-income households through the construction of wheelchair ramps. The ramps serve as their gateway to the world, reopening connections with neighbors and the larger community while providing independence and accessibility. Summit Managed Solutions is thrilled for the opportunity to support SAWS by participating in a ramp build in September. As a company who works in the managed care space in Indiana, we are excited about this news! On July 1st, Indiana Family and Social Services Administration launched Indiana PathWays for Aging, a Medicaid managed care program for Hoosiers aged 60 and over who receive Medicaid (or Medicaid and Medicare) benefits. Today we would like to recognize Summit employee, Dustin Jablonski! In his role as a Program Coordinator, Dustin engages with members, troubleshoots issues, networks with providers, and represents our partners at events where he provides helpful information and positive interactions. When looking at Dustin's extensive professional experience one thing is clear, he truly enjoys helping others. Last week, the Summit Managed Solutions team had the opportunity to volunteer with the Dream Center Indianapolis. We packed race-themed bags for children who will attend an up-coming Adopt-a-block community event. We also enjoyed learning about the mission and vision of The Dream Center to disrupt and reverse the cycle of poverty. It was a fun and enlightening day!
