Next up on the skylight renovation hit list is the spectacular office building located at 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. Originally installed by Super Sky Products in 1980, the trio of ridge skylights, located at the top of the main atrium and dropped into a 1-story triangular-shaped depression from the top roof surface, have served the facility well over the past 44 years. However, the time has come to bring them up to date, give them some new modern glazing technology, some updated sealing components and all new exterior finished components to round out the long list of completed building renovations ! Material delivery was accomplished on Saturday September 14th and the renovations will start this week. These skylights will receive (222) new clear Low-E tempered (and heat soaked) insulating / laminated glazing units, new frame gaskets, new pressure plates with new gaskets, fasteners and wet seals along with new clear anodized snap-on cover caps to finish it all off. As with all of our re-glaze projects this one will also receive a flush glazed horizontal structural joint at all purlin conditions to eliminate the old raised purlin pressure plates and allow better watershed and eliminate many leak-prone intersections and dirt accumulation. Our local DC crew headed up by Mr. Jeff Farley and Mr. Elwood ("Woody") Gant will have these units looking brand new in no time!
