  • Congratulations to three Superior employees on being named Wisconsin Star of Life Honorees! This award celebrates the contributions of EMS professionals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to their communities or the EMS profession. Honorees from all across Wisconsin came together in Madison this past Wednesday to be recognized for their achievements. The three recipients at Superior are: -Diana Frances, Assistant Station Manager, Northern Wisconsin. Diana has been with Superior Ambulance for over two years. In that time she has worked her way up to Field Training Officer and is now in a leadership role. She has a positive work ethic and is always willing to go above and beyond for her patients and coworkers! -Tariq Sabbah, Dispatcher and EMT. Tariq was nominated for his intrepidity of service and communication. After immigrating to the U.S. in 2023, he joined Superior as a dispatcher. Tariq recently went through our EMT class and now splits his time between dispatch and working on a rig. Tariq’s passion to help others and demonstrated sense of selfless service are inspiring! -Carol Varys, EMT and Field Training Officer. Since becoming an EMT, Carol has continued to give back to EMS education as a preceptor and Field Training Officer, developing into a trusted mentor for new employees and EMT students. Our candidates are training to excel in their careers as EMTs. Mastering CPR is a critical step in their journey to becoming healthcare professionals. They’re learning the precise techniques needed to perform chest compressions that save lives. Understanding when and how to activate the emergency response system is key to ensuring a fast, effective response. This training equips them with the skills needed to make an immediate impact in emergencies. Each session brings them closer to becoming leaders in their field, ready to serve their communities with confidence and expertise. They’re not just learning skills—they’re preparing to be the difference in life-or-death moments. Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service

  • A collaborative effort between Superior Ambulance of Illinois, Superior Ambulance of Ohio and Superior Ambulance of Michigan led to the deployment of a combined task force of 10 ambulances to North Carolina to assist with evacuation and disaster response in the face of Hurricane Helene. Last week, 2 units from Illinois, 5 from Ohio and 3 from Michigan reached South Carolina, and have since been relocated to Asheville, North Carolina, assisting with local 911 calls. The 20 dedicated crew members are maintaining high morale and are consistently engaged with their duties. Our thoughts are with our crews, the affected communities and everyone involved. Stay safe!

Our EMT students are gaining critical skills in every training session. Yesterday, they learned about N95 fit testing with Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service - the official training provider for our EMT program. Fit testing is a detailed process that ensures each mask creates a proper seal around the face. This prevents harmful particles, like bacteria and viruses, from entering the respiratory system. For EMTs working in unpredictable, high-risk situations, it’s essential that these masks fit correctly to protect them when they’re responding to emergencies. During the fit test, students are trained on how to wear their masks, how to adjust them for the best fit, and how to check for any air leaks. This hands-on training prepares our students for real-world scenarios where safety and protection are critical. A properly fitted mask can make all the difference in the field, allowing EMTs to do their jobs with confidence. We are proud to partner with Superior to ensure our students are ready to protect themselves and their patients. This training goes beyond the classroom and prepares them for the realities they will face as frontline healthcare professionals. #FirstRespondersInAction #SuperiorAmbulance #LifeSavingSkills #FrontlineHeroes
