This week we welcomed our new Senior Vice President of Conservation to the team! Sustain SC was excited to meet with the South Carolina Department of Commerce and South Carolina Department of Environmental Services as we focus on creating a circular economy, increasing recycling and reducing waste in South Carolina.

We were thrilled to honor the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, The Daniel-Mickel Foundation, and Waccamaw Community Foundation as this year’s Partnership Accelerator Champions at the symposium! These incredible partners are helping Sustain SC foster a collaborative future where commerce meets conservation to attract sustainable industries and strengthen South Carolina’s existing ones. Through their support, Sustain SC can unite industry, corporations, non-profits, conservation groups, solar providers, utilities, engineering firms, and state agencies to create a more sustainable and resilient South Carolina. We are thrilled to welcome Kristen Austin Gunter as our new Senior Vice President of Conservation at Sustain SC! In her new role, Kristen will work with key stakeholders and partners to help fulfill Sustain SC’s mission of connecting sustainability goals of business with local solutions for the benefit of South Carolina’s economy, environment, and people. Kristen brings a wealth of experience in conservation from over 25 years with The Nature Conservancy, where she led conservation efforts across South Carolina. We’re excited to see the impact Kristen will bring to Sustain SC and to communities across our state.
