We are pleased to announce the addition of Anthony Luedy, VP, Commercial Lender. He joins us with nearly 30 years of retail and commercial banking experience, formerly serving as VP, Commercial Lender with First National Bank in Sandusky, and as Assistant VP, Business Banker with First Merit Bank in Ashland. In his new role, Luedy will manage a portfolio of commercial relationships, as well as develop and close new business within Sutton Bank’s markets which includes Ashland, Huron, Richland and Seneca counties. Luedy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Toledo and a Master of Business Administration degree from Cleveland State University. Sutton bank is happy to announce updates to our Board of Directors! Congratulations to Lisa Young, CPA of Tiffin, who has been named as Chair of our Board. Lisa has served on the Board since 2015 and brings over 30 years of experience in banking, finance and accounting. Lisa has been the sole proprietor of an independent accounting firm in Tiffin since 1994. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. We are also pleased to announce the nominations of MJ (Mike) Anderson and Dr. Matthew C. Roberts to our Board. MJ is currently a Vice President for The Andersons, Inc. where he oversees multiple groups that trade agricultural commodities throughout the United States. He started with The Andersons in 2003 in grain operations, and since then, has held many roles in trade management and risk management.   Dr. Matt Roberts is an independent economist and professional speaker who has delivered over 700 non-academic speeches and talks to agriculture, banking, and government groups. He founded the Kernmantle Group, an independent economic research and consulting group, specializing in agriculture and energy commodity markets and from 2022-2024 he served as Senior Grain & Oilseed Analyst at Terrain. Congratulations also to Todd Sutton, who has been nominated to serve as Chair of Sutton Bancshares, Inc., the holding company of Sutton Bank. Sutton has served on the Bank’s Board of Directors since 2018. He is the great-great-grandson of Lester Sutton, the founder of Sutton Bank. He is currently the President of Primient Covation, a $100 million joint venture in East Tennessee manufacturing biomaterials from renewable plant-based ingredients. We are happy to announce the addition of Stuart Smith who has joined the Bank's agriculture lending team in Attica. As an agriculture lender, Smith will focus on building relationships with Ag customers and supporting them in achieving their financial goals. He will be able to assist with machinery, equipment, real estate and livestock purchases to help customers establish a strong financial future for their farm-business operations. Besides growing up on his family's farm, Smith has worked in the agriculture industry for 14 years, with over five years of direct agriculture lending experience. Prior to his service as an agriculture lender, Smith spent several years working in production-row crop agriculture at Sunrise Cooperative as a Precision Technology Specialist & Seed Manager. He is also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. Smith obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Turfgrass Science from The Ohio State University. Join us in welcoming Stuart to the Sutton Bank team.
