The voice of affordable housing in Silicon Valley
About us
SV@Home's mission is to drive the creation of affordable housing for a more vibrant and equitable Silicon Valley. In 2014, faced with a worsening housing market and concerns about the impact of rising rents and home prices on lower-income workers, seniors, and the “missing middle” – including teachers, nurses, small business owners, and construction professionals who can’t afford the high prices but don’t qualify for subsidized housing – a group of South Bay housing professionals came together to launch a new organization with a laser focus on affordable housing. This new organization, named SV@Home, opened its doors in July of 2015 with the vision of a community where all people have access to a safe, stable, and affordable home. Through policy, education, and messaging, SV@Home works to increase the supply of housing affordable to all. Initially started as a program of Housing Trust Silicon Valley, SV@Home became an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in January 2017.

Proposition 5 will return power to communities! SV@Home and Housing Trust Silicon Valley support voting #YesonProp5 on November 5. Are you with us? “As affordable housing leaders in Santa Clara County and beyond, we are acutely aware of California’s massive housing shortage. Too many low- and middle-income neighbors struggle to afford, find, and keep a roof over their heads. Proposition 5 provides a crucial solution by returning the power to local communities, allowing us to create more affordable housing and ensuring that our public infrastructure keeps up with growth.” - Regina Celestin Williams, Executive Director at SV@Home, and Noni Ramos, CEO, Housing Trust Silicon Valley. Read their full Mercury News Letter to the Editor: https://lnkd.in/gHN982UA (scroll down to the third letter). You can learn more about this important initiative at YesOnProp5.org. #svathome #yesonprop5 #affordablehousing #housingjustice #vote

Calling all fellow affordable housing and transit advocates! Join us for a day of action canvass in support of YES on Proposition 5, a historic, structural reform that would make it much easier for local communities to fund affordable homes, public transit, and other public instructure. Prop 5 is neck and neck in every poll so far, meaning that any and all time spent volunteering with us could make the difference; this race will be decided by just a handful of voters. This local Prop 5 voter engagement effort is run by local community-based nonprofits like Working Partnerships USA, SV@Home, and Silicon Valley Rising Aciton, in partnership with We Are California.
