If anyone in this world could launch a fund, who would you want to back? 🤔 With Sweater, it might just be possible. Here are few examples of fund partners who can use our platform to raise capital from their communities: 💻Financial Technology Organizations: Fintech organizations often have large, owned audiences of investors looking for new ways to diversify their personal investment portfolios. They’ve built communities of retail investors and are often looking to launch new, ancillary product offerings so it’s a natural fit for Sweater’s platform. 🌟 Celebrities: Imagine a basketball player launching a sports-tech fund that their fans can directly participate in, or a beauty influencer launching a beauty-tech fund to invest in companies featured in their content - and giving their followers a chance to invest alongside them. 🎓 Universities: With Sweater, student-managed venture funds to raise capital directly from the student and alumni population instead of relying on big checks from accredited investors. Operating a fund is incredibly time-consuming and requires significant expertise and resources. With Sweater, fund managers can focus on what they do best – identifying and nurturing investment opportunities – while we handle the backend operations, compliance, and technology. How is Sweater different from Reg-CF crowdfunding? Sweater is unlocking access for retail investors to invest in high potential startups, but we’re not a crowdfunding platform. So what makes us different? Sweater breaks down the barriers to participate in funds that deploy capital into startups or other private deals. Unlike crowdfunding, where you invest in individual startups, Sweater allows you to invest in a fund that diversifies investments across multiple companies, similar to an index fund but for private markets. Only a portion of high-growth startups decide to raise crowdfunding, but many more raise venture capital. Until our solution came on the market, it was nearly impossible for retail investors to get in on these deals that have historically yielded significant returns. VC funds have produced an average annual return of 32.4% since 1995 compared to the S&P’s average annual return of 9.1% (Source: Cambridge Associates US VC Index). We allow fund managers to pool capital from thousands of people to invest in a portfolio of innovative, carefully vetted companies poised for high growth. This structure allows retail investors to benefit from the due diligence performed by professional fund managers, and to invest in venture qualified companies with less capital, thereby diversifying risk. Our app also provides educational content to help retail investors make an informed investment decision and understand private market investments. What’s our secret? We leverage the structure of an interval fund to navigate restrictions that limit other funds. This innovative approach took years of collaboration with the SEC to break away from the traditional model of high investment minimums, non-solicitation rules, and a limited number of investors. We've launched our own ‘public VC fund’ (Sweater's Cashmere Fund), and now we’re on track to onboard several more fund partners. By unlocking access to private market funds, we’re working to provide the same financial opportunities that high net worth individuals have to everyday investors. Ready to join us in building the next frontier for retail investing? Invest in Sweater today at https://lnkd.in/gzUKPmkW
