He has an extensive background in M&A, having served as Head of M&A at Barco, where he led various cross-border investment and divestment transactions. As a seasoned legal executive with extensive international experience 🌍, Bart will be instrumental in leading our Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Development functions during this exciting phase of growth and innovation 🚀. Bart’s impressive career spans early-stage, mid-stage, and late-stage biotech and pharma companies. Since July 2023, he has served as a consultant to healthcare innovators in stealth, start-up, scale-up, and transformation modes. Prior to this, Bart was General Counsel & Company Secretary and Executive Committee member at Mnemo Therapeutics. There, he advised executive management on strategic, operational, compliance, and litigation matters, supported business development and R&D activities such as licensing, partnerships, technology transfer, manufacturing, and supply, and co-led the company’s restructuring operations, including the closure of its U.S. locations 🇺🇸. ⚖️ 📒 Earlier, Bart held senior roles, including Chief Legal Officer & HR Director at Biophytis, Senior Director Legal and Data Protection Officer at Celyad Oncology, and Legal Director at TiGenix (now part of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd).
