Today is Latina Equal Pay Day. It’s the date that symbolizes how far into the year the average Latina must work to earn the same amount that the average white, non-Hispanic man earned in the previous year. In 2023, Latinas working full-time, year-round were paid 58 cents for every dollar paid to non-Hispanic white men — a miniscule increase from 57 cents in 2022. For the first time in 20 years, the pay gap widened for all Latina earners (including part-time and seasonal). These workers were paid 51 cents for every dollar paid to non-Hispanic white men in 2023, down from 52 cents in 2022. #LatinaEqualPay Day serves as a reminder of the work organizations still must do to improve pay equity and close pay gaps. And leading organizations are doing the work. We work with hundreds of companies that use Syndio to analyze compensation and pay practices for over 10.5 million employees globally. Here are just some of the actions they’re taking to close the pay gap: ✅Find pay gaps due to gender, race, and ethnicity. ✅Analyze root cause issues that are limiting access to opportunities for higher-paying work. ✅Give decision makers precise, real-time salary recommendations to ensure decisions are equitable, consistent, and explainable from the start. Let’s turn action into progress. Together. #Trabajadoras #LatinaEqualPay #PayEquity #PayTransparency #PayGap

We all want to be paid fairly. And new research from LinkedIn highlights the risks companies face if they can’t explain compensation decisions and prove that they’re fair. But that’s easier said than done. Many companies struggle to keep track of whether they're paying fairly and consistently. So... are you paying employees consistently? Do you have a pulse on pay for new hires vs tenured? Men vs women? And can you clearly explain how pay works and why some employees earn more and others earn less? If you need help on this journey, check out Syndio’s Pay Transparency Guide. It gives you clear frameworks to assess where you are today and actionable steps to make progress. Who’s feeling well paid for their work? Just over four in 10 U.S. employees say they are well compensated for their work, according to LinkedIn’s latest Workforce Confidence survey. Baby boomers (47%) are happier about their pay than most other workers. Over one-third of Gen Z workers say they feel they are paid well (37%), while millennials and Gen Xers are about average when it comes to pay satisfaction (42% and 43%, respectively). This generational divide is unsurprising, given that older employees are more likely than their younger colleagues to hold senior positions accompanied by larger paychecks. The survey also found a disparity between men and women: 47% of men said they feel well compensated at work, compared to just 39% of women. It also indicates pay could be a strong reason to job hunt — workers actively searching for a new gig are much less likely to be happy about their pay (29%) than workers who aren’t job seeking (47%). How important is compensation to overall job satisfaction? What advice would you give colleagues who are looking to earn more money? ✍️: Rachel Cromidas 📊: Allie Lewis, Bud Rashidian, Karen Bills

Today is Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander (NHPI) Women’s Equal Pay Day. This date symbolizes how far into the year the average median Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander woman must work in order to have earned what the average median white, non-Hispanic man earned the entire previous year. NHPI Women’s Equal Pay Day is a reminder of the work remaining to improve equity in the workplace. While the causes of this pay gap are complex, we know it’s possible to make real change. At Syndio we work with hundreds of companies who are using our solutions to analyze compensation and pay practices for over 8.5 million employees globally. Our customers are able to: ✅ Find statistically significant and/or percentage-based gaps due to gender, race, ethnicity, and their intersections ✅ Identify root causes ✅ Take action to close or prevent gaps Sometimes “action” looks like paying impacted employees more. Sometimes it looks like addressing systemic issues that are limiting access to opportunities for higher paying work. Sometimes it looks like providing precise, real-time salary recommendations to decision makers, so pay inequities never form in the first place. In all cases real change is happening. We can admire problems or we can act. Syndio makes action easier. #NHPIWomensEqualPayDay #PayTransparency #PayEquity #PayGap
