“Empowering women in life sciences is not only an ambition, but a responsibility” At Takeda, we fully support Seyda Atadan Memis' mission and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Read Seyda’s story below 👇 https://lnkd.in/eCZka5hG
As we celebrate Women's History Month this March, I had the opportunity to reflect on my own journey as a woman in STEM, and the importance of accelerating action to empower future female leaders, in Pharmafocus. Growing up, I was inspired by the strong women in my life, including my mother and grandmother, who thrived in male-dominated fields. Their influence led me to pursue a career in STEM and ultimately in the pharmaceutical industry, where I am privileged to be the General Manager for Takeda UK and Ireland. However, despite women making up 46% of the workforce, only 26% are in STEM fields. This highlights the need for supportive environments that encourage and empower women. We must address challenges like imposter syndrome and self-doubt and ensure women have role models and advocates who reflect their aspirations. By nurturing new female leaders and supporting an inclusive industry, we can transform the healthcare landscape for women everywhere. Let's harness our collective experiences to inspire and empower women, ensuring they leave a lasting mark on STEM for future generations. #WomeninSTEM #TakedaUKandIreland #IWD2025 https://lnkd.in/dpJTPCqp

How are we, at Takeda UK and Ireland, accelerating action for #InternationalWomensDay which takes place tomorrow? 👩🏼🤝👩🏽 This week, as part of some fantastic events in partnership with our Gender Parity Network, we invited Cally Beaton to talk about her amazing career, the big change she made, and how we can all take action to highlight barriers which are still present. We will also be holding an internal discussion around the topic of the Gender Pay Gap which based on recent research will take over 100 years to close. At Takeda, we remain committed to addressing the systemic barriers and biases faced by women. Together, we’re taking action to achieve gender equity 🤝 #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction #TakedaUKandIreland

Today marks #RareDiseaseDay2025 We are thrilled to support Genetic Alliance UK in launching an inspiring anthology that showcases a remarkable collection of creative works from individuals living with genetic, rare, and undiagnosed conditions. These creative works have been inspired by the phrase ‘more than you can imagine’ and we encourage you to take some time to explore these stories, to learn more about the experiences of people living with rare diseases and discover which stories resonate with you. Take a look through the collection following the link below and join us in coming together this Rare Disease Day, to support the 1 in 17 people affected by a rare disease💪 https://lnkd.in/eaVA3B2G #RareDiseaseDay #MoreThanYouCanImagine
