The day before the Golf & Shoot, TAKKION hosts an “Appreciation Event” for our key partners. Guests arrive for an Open House at TAKKION's Operations & Technical Training Center in Sioux Falls, SD, and receive tours of this facility, as well as the neighboring Remanufacturing facility. The 3MW test stand and technical training unit are the "fan favorites." Following the Open House, guests and TAKKION team members are invited to the “bird cage.” You heard it right; Sioux Falls is home to the Sioux Falls Canaries Baseball Team. What’s a better way for our teams to connect and network with key customers and vendors, as well as other business units of the company, than over baseball, burgers & brews? ⚾ 🍔 🍻 We are proud to support local businesses in the process. Thank you all for coming!

TAKKION partnered with the South Dakota Wind Energy Association (soon to be South Dakota Renewable Energy Association) to host their annual charitable Golf ⛳ & Shoot event. Through sponsorships from key customers and vendors, this event helped raise $20,000 to promote sustainable energy, workforce development, and community involvement. The event, which brought in hundreds of attendees from across the nation, consisted of a golf tournament at Elmwood Golf Course and a sporting clay tournament at Crooks Gun Club. Winners were boasted during the awards dinner. 🏆 We loved seeing the collective enthusiasm surrounding the growth of renewable energy, the future possibilities, and the networking taking place to make those opportunities realities. Each year is an even bigger success, thanks to our generous sponsors! 🙌 Thank you to all those who attended, as well as those of you who supported us from afar. Our large sponsors are highlighted here:

Welcome home, Coop! 🛬 TAKKION’s Field Service Engineer returns from a 3-month deployment in Okinawa, Japan. Cooper has proudly served in the South Dakota Air Guard for 7 years, with a current title of F-16 Crew Chief/Staff Sargent. We asked Cooper about his takeaways from deployment, his proudest military moment, and how he felt about coming home. Read what he had to say: “While at Kadena Air Base, I recognized the importance of keeping a positive attitude and changing perspectives to see the bigger picture.” “My proudest military moment from this deployment was being deployed with my sister. She and I are both in the SDANG and work maintenance on the F-16s. It was special to have us both representing our family and the United States in Japan. My family is very involved in the SDANG. My wife and I met in the unit, two of my sisters, and my brother-in-law are all in the unit.” “Coming home was surreal. It was "only" a 3-month deployment, and I know many others have deployed for longer. However, it was still difficult being gone. Being away from my wife and son for that duration was a learning and growing experience. I'm blessed with an awesome wife who "held the fort" while I was gone. Coming off the plane and seeing her and Cal waiting for me was the greatest sight to see. Nothing else in the world mattered once I was with them.” “My time away was good, and I would consider it very beneficial to my military career. However, I was happy to get home and have enjoyed spending time with my family. It's been nice to get back to work, assisting the field crews with engineering and R&D needs.” Welcome back, Coop – the team has missed you and looks forward to having your expertise back! We thank you for your service.🎖

Meet Jose. TAKKION’s System Analyst. When he’s not identifying system improvements, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of TAKKION’s HRIS system, you can find Jose spending time with loved ones, working on the next landscaping project, or sitting on his porch in the evening with a cold (refreshment). 🍻 Proudest Accomplishment with Our Company over the course of 8 years: “Hearing our CEO say himself that I had a significant influence on the growth of the organization. To hear that my work and efforts are recognized by a role model leader is a very assuring feeling.” Jose collaborates internally with HR, Payroll, Accounting, and Operations and externally with our third-party service to ensure successful system implementation and execution. He may be “behind the scenes,” but our entire workforce can thank Jose for his contributions in making our work lives easier. Be sure to give him your favorite taco recommendation. If he had to eat one meal every day for the rest of his life, he’d choose tacos. “I'm talking Al Pastor, Barbacoa, Discada, Carne Asada, Carnitas, Chicharron - any of these with a good salsa!” 🌮 We’re happy to have you on team TAKKION, Jose!
