This conversation is so important and we are proud to be engaged!
I would like to thank all the panelist who participated in an important and timely conversation regarding the documentary SENTENCED. The documentary discussed the impact of adult illiteracy on the lives of children and the urgency to ensure children can read proficiently by third grade. Special thanks to Kevin Beverly (Moving Dorchester Forward) Richard Marks, and Charlene Jones (John and Janice Wyatt Foundation) for organizing the event. #DorchesterCountyCGLR Dr Sharon Pepukayi James Redman John Wyatt Cristy Morrell Alfred Sikes

This month, we are shining the TCPS Employee Spotlight on CURTIS HULLIGER, Systems Administrator Assistant! Are you a TCPS Alum? - I am not! I am a Caroline County (Colonel Richardson) transplant. How many years have you worked for TCPS? - 20 years this August! Is there Anything else you would like to share about your educational background (certifications, licenses, etc.)? - I have a BA in game design from a shady online institution that no longer exists. I've said too much... What are your favorite things about your job? - I love building out new systems for TCPS! Helping the team to increase efficiency and security. I love hearing people grumble about the systems we implement. That's not me being facetious either, we laugh manically! We have a great team who cares about doing our best to assist in providing the best possible instructional tools. Most days we have a lot of fun together while doing it. How long have you been in your current position? - I've been at TCEC for around 7 years now. Before this, I was a technician for St. Michaels and Tilghman. Big shout out to my Bay Hundred friends! What is something most people don’t know about your job? - I think with IT most people don't know much about what we do. We like it that way. Mwahahahaha! Just because everything is "working" doesn't mean we are not!! What is something most people would be surprised to know about you? - I almost went to culinary school! The first 6 years of my working life were in the kitchen at Suicide Bridge and Time Out Tap and Grill. Now I only make breakfast... What are your favorite things to do when you are not working? - Video games with the boys, horror movies, reading "nerdy" novels, occasionally riding my bike (bicycle, nothing cool like a motorcycle) What would you like to share about your family? - My wife Nora is the coolest and most caring person ever. My daughter Samantha is awesome. We are into the same music and horror movies. She's so much like me it's concerning. My son Alex is like his mother sweet and caring and no slouch on the video games either! They are my favorites...
