We joined Girl Scouts of West Central Florida for the grand opening of the Wonders of Water Educational Hub today at Camp Indian Echo! The educational hub will be where Girl Scouts will learn all about the water cycle with hands-on activities. Funding for this hub was supported by Tampa Bay Water’s Water Conservation and Protection Mini-grant Program. The funding was also used to install a new aerator to improve the water quality of Daisy Lake, put in a water bottle filling station and provide programming on source water protection. Source water protection information will be permanently affixed to the educational hub, ensure the thousands of Girl Scouts and community group members that utilize Camp Indian Echo each year continue to learn about the importance of clean drinking water for years to come. Pasco County Government Commissioner and Tampa Bay Water Board Member Jack Mariano and GSWCF CEO Mary Pat King spoke about the importance of source water protection and what this new educational hub means to the camp and the Girl Scouts.
