Our mission is to support and enrich the continuity of Jewish life and values in our community, in Israel, and worldwide
About us
The Tampa Jewish Community Centers and Federation is the heartbeat of Jewish Tampa. Through the meaningful work of the Tampa Jewish Federation, the JCC on the Cohn Campus, the Shanna and Bryan Glazer JCC and the collective efforts of the many initiatives, committees and programs, we are fortunate to serve as the cornerstone of the Jewish Community. Governed by a volunteer board of directors that oversees the operation of the entire organization in concert with professional management staff, the organization also owns the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Village Assisted Living Residences, as well as FIBA (Florida-Israel Business Accelerator) Services and is also partner in TOP Jewish Foundation with the Federations in Pinellas and Orlando. We work to strengthen family life, promote the health, education and welfare of our membership and our community, and to ensure for ourselves and future generations, Jewish continuity and identification with Jewish values, culture and heritage.

FREE Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Balancing Free Speech and Social Responsibility Join us for a series of virtual, lunchtime CLE approved programs for attorneys or anyone interested in learning more about what constitutes free speech and criminal aspects of hate crimes, responses to antisemitism in social media and confronting antisemitism. Registration Required Session 1 - Hate Speech & 1st Amendment: What’s Protected & What’s Not? Thursday, June 20th Noon to 1:30 PM Synopsis: With the rising tensions between cultures in the United States, as lawyers we often find ourselves asked the question: “How can they say that?” Social media and the media in general create platforms for many speakers to share their views, including views that offend, insult and are hateful to others. The dilemma for lawyers is knowing when such offensive and often hateful speech is protected speech under the First Amendment and when such speech is unconstitutional, illegal and actionable. Session 2 - The Rise of Hate Crimes: How Should Attorneys Adapt? Tuesday, June 25th Noon to 1:30 PM Synopsis: There is documented evidence of an increase in hate-related crimes in the United States. Victims range from black men in hoodies to synagogues and JCCs receiving bomb threats. In some instances, the crimes have been personal while in others against an entire population. As attorneys, there is an ethical obligation to know and understand the cultural issues, legal causes of action and how to respond whether representing a victim or defendant. Registration for each event will close at 5:00 p.m. on the day prior to the seminar. This series is underwritten by The Walk Family Fund at TOP Jewish Foundation.
