On Thursday, TANK and Northern Kentucky University teamed up to ‘Let It Shine’ at the official BLINK kick-off parade, showcasing the power of sustainable public transit and local creativity 🚌✨ After weeks of hard work by TANK staff and the talented students from College of Informatics at NKU and NKU School of the Arts, our shared vision lit up the streets of Cincinnati. As we embarked on our first microtransit program, now known as TANK+, our team realized in the early stages how important it would be for us to spend time in these communities pre and post launch. For the last several months we visited libraries, grocery stores, community events, city council meetings, senior facilities and more - focusing on educating people about how TANK+ works and how to book your trip. Being out in the public allowed us to connect to more people, listen to their feedback, answer questions, and assist them with the booking process. Our work is far from complete, but we've helped lay the foundation for a deeper level of communication and a stronger transportation network in Northern Kentucky - focusing on our transit dependent and senior populations. #TeamTANK

Today marks the beginning of a more flexible transit experience in Northern Kentucky. Our team and community leaders came together in support of this exciting occasion, as we launched the TANK Plus pilot program in Campbell County. TANK Plus is a flexible, on-demand way to get around, curb-to-curb within a designated zone, or to connect to the TANK fixed route network for travel outside of the zone. Microtransit is designed to provide transit in areas of low-density that do not have access to fixed route bus service. The service will provide critical mobility to medical facilities, school and basic necessities like fresh food and groceries for many Campbell County residents. “We are excited to be able to bring transit service to communities that have not, in some cases, had public transit services in more than a decade.
