At the 15th World Congress on Targeting Mitochondria, Marvin Edeas emphasized the critical role of mitochondrial extracellular vesicles (EVs) in disease prevention and treatment. He highlighted the need to explore their interactions with microbiota and their potential in addressing age-related diseases.
The future of medicine lies in mitochondria! Marvin Edeas, from Institut Cochin, INSERM U1016, Université de Paris, Founder of the World Mitochondria Society, highlighted this vision during the 15th World Congress on Targeting Mitochondria in Berlin. Marvin Edeas emphasized the need not only to treat mitochondrial diseases directly but also to prevent age-related diseases. “Mitochondria are dynamic organelles that change shape, size, and location, which calls for an equally dynamic approach.” He pointed to key areas for exploration, including the interaction between mitochondria and the microbiota, and uncovering the mysteries of mitochondrial extracellular vesicles and exosomes. WMS President Volkmar Weissig and Marvin Edeas extend their gratitude to all who contributed and participated, as they look forward to future mitochondria discoveries and the next meeting. #MitochondrialMedicine #TargetingMitochondria #WorldMitochondriaSociety #AgeRelatedDiseases #HealthInnovation #ScientificResearch #ExtracellularVesicles #Microbiota #Biomedicine
