Equity, Opportunity, and Inclusion for People with Disabilities Since 1975
About us
TASH is an international leader in disability advocacy. Founded in 1975, TASH advocates for human rights and inclusion for people with significant disabilities and support needs – those most vulnerable to segregation, abuse, neglect and institutionalization. TASH works to advance inclusive communities through advocacy, research, professional development, policy, and information and resources for parents, families and self-advocates. The inclusive practices TASH validates through research have been shown to improve outcomes for all people. As a member driven association, TASH relies on a network of passionate advocates and professionals to ensure the needs of our community are addressed, and rights are upheld. We invite you to become a TASH member and contribute to our vibrant organization through the TASH chapter network, numerous volunteer committees and online and in-person training and events.

More than 10 million children and adults with disabilities rely on Medicaid for their health coverage. Approximately 700,000 people with disabilities are on waitlists to receive Medicaid Home and Community Based Services. Cuts to Medicaid will deny healthcare to people with disabilities and deny them their rights to receive services in their home and community. Join SEIU, in partnership with Caring Across Generations for "Medicaid Saves Lives Call-In Day" on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Call Congress using SEIU's dial-in number (866) 426-2631 and tell them: #HandsOffMedicaid

"Earlier this month, the National Science Foundation began flagging grants that contained buzzwords commonly associated with D.E.I.A., including 'disability' and 'barrier.' An N.S.F. program director … said that there were 'quite a few awards flagged for the word ‘disability,’' including projects to make driving and computing more accessible. The program director added that staff members were unsure if these research activities were banned by the executive order." https://lnkd.in/e_MvRw4u
