About us

TAT, a 501c3 organization, is dedicated to raising up a defensive force of transportation professionals across North America to assist law enforcement in the recognition and reporting of human trafficking, in order to aid in the recovery of victims and the arrest of perpetrators. Recognizing that certain industries are uniquely positioned to recognize and report human trafficking, TAT partners with the trucking, truck stop, bus and energy industries to engage their workforces in this fight. TAT also partners with government agencies and law enforcement throughout the U.S. and Canada and builds public-private partnerships between the transportation and energy industries and law enforcement to combat this crime. TAT stands committed to educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of key industries and agencies to combat human trafficking. We educate our partners with industry/agency-specific top-tier training tools to recognize and report this crime and to use a victim-centered approach when engaging with potential victims of trafficking. We equip our partners with training, language, action plans and policies to make a positive impact on this crime. We come alongside our partners and empower them to activate those within their sphere of influence to get involved. We mobilize the largest army of transportation/industry professionals and public sector partners to lend their expertise and their voices to this movement.

Did you hear the news?? TAT is partnering with Platform Science, a leader in technology for truckers. "Through this partnership, the TAT app for ELDs will be installed on tablets provided to Platform Science customers. This initiative ensures that drivers have immediate access to vital resources and tools necessary to identify and report suspected human trafficking incidents." (source: Fleet News Daily) “We are grateful to TAT for the incredible work they do in mobilizing the trucking industry to fight human trafficking. By offering the TAT app to our customer’s drivers, we are empowering them to play an active role in this important effort,” said Michael Bray, Chief Commercial Officer, Platform Science. “Drivers are at the center of everything we do and this is another example of how we give them the tools at their fingertips to make a difference while on the road.” Read the full article at: https://lnkd.in/gDs4BpJ3

On Sept. 24, TAT co-hosted a Coalition Build at Cleveland State University with the Ohio Attorney General's Office, the Ohio Human Trafficking Initiative, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Alliance Against Human Trafficking, and the Cleveland State University Police Department. Attendees learned to identify and report human trafficking and worked together to discuss strategies to protect youth in northeast Ohio from exploitation and human trafficking. "I am grateful for the opportunity to honor my daughter Courtney’s memory by sharing part of her story involving transportation in hopes of helping other victims and their families navigate systems, services and resources. Raising awareness and providing anti-human trafficking education requires a team effort that includes key industries, agencies and survivors. Working together using a multidisciplinary team approach reduces barriers and promotes knowledge integration among law enforcement, health care, legal and transportation professionals, along with advocates and survivors, who are best situated to inform us what they need. Sharing accurate information can reduce disdain, desensitization, stigmatization and prevent victim blaming for vulnerable populations whose sex and labor trafficking victimization is sometimes hidden in plain sight. Every survivor’s story is different. It is important that we identify, listen, believe, and support each person on their journey towards sustainable healing. Thank you to the TAT team for bringing partner agencies together to amplify awareness of anti-human trafficking efforts here in Ohio. No one can do this work alone and we are stronger together.” ~Carolyn M. Kinkoph, MBA
