✨ TeachAAPI is an educational non-profit that is dedicated to weaving Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander experiences into the fabric of our collective American identity. Over the past three years, TeachAAPI has undergone a remarkable evolution. With the guidance of our board, in collaboration with esteemed content providers and educational advisors, we have created AAPI programming that raises awareness and understanding of our historical and modern contributions to American progress. Our aim is to build bridges through shared experiences and values between all cultures in service of all students ✨ To support busy educators and learners of today, our distinctive approach is inspiring, engaging, and shelf-ready content that teachers can easily implement in their classrooms. This approach has been embraced by all our partner schools who see us as a strong supportive DEIB resource. From library resources to digital content to speaker recommendations and in-class curriculum, our breadth of offerings supports pre-K to 12th grade schools and meets them where they are on their DEIB journey 📚 ❤️ TeachAAPI believes in a commitment to collaborative efforts that amplify impact and foster meaningful change. We believe that collaboration and community are key to creating a more inclusive future for all children. Meet the Team: Betty Yee Wan - Advisory Board Member ✨ Betty Wan is an experienced Management Consultant with over 20 years of experience guiding Fortune 500 companies in their technology modernization efforts. Betty started her own consulting firm several years ago to assist corporations in their business transformation journey. ✨ Philanthropy has already been in Betty’s heart for as long as she can remember. A couple years after Betty’s daughter was born, she thought about ways to give back to her city where she was raising her family. She found community with the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair Association. There, she served seven years on the volunteer board holding various positions including Marketing Director. In the past, Betty has also been part of the University of Southern California Town and Gown organization, and USC Trojan League of South Bay. Within her daughter’s school district, Betty served as the district advisory council’s Diversity liaison to schools. She also is a trained parent volunteer of the ADL’s No Place for Hate (NPFH) curriculum, to help promote inclusivity and differences in her school district. ❤️ 🙌 Betty joined TeachAAPI as a Board member to help introduce curriculum and educational programming in the public school district space. In continuing her work with TeachAAPI, Betty is working to onboard schools, parents and administrators in their journey to incorporate AAPI curriculum and programming to their schools. 🏫 🎒 📚 #AAPIEducation #InclusiveEducation #Leadership #Philanthropy
