Meet Jess Hilscher, a Senior Project Manager at our Fort Worth office! Want to join her team? Apply here: https://zurl.co/gqPu 🔹 Years with TNP: 1.5 🔹 What is your favorite project you’ve worked on with TNP? Our project with the Town of Addison to reimagine Quorum Drive from a typical office corridor arterial to an arboretum-style art walk with expanded pedestrian facilities and a potential road diet is exceptionally fun. It’s challenging to consider so many puzzle pieces needing to fit together against existing constraints and expectations, coupled with important stakeholders’ considerations. This will also be a unique opportunity for my team to be all hands in on a singular project and vision. 🔹 What is something you would want someone to know about working at TNP that is not included in a job description? All jobs here require a “good teammate” attitude. You will be responsible for doing your job right, but no one is expected to do it alone. Helping others and serving them, internally and externally, is a natural part of this company’s makeup. 🔹 What do you enjoy doing outside of the office? I am an avid at-home landscaper. I have been known to plan an entire trip around a botanical garden just so I can bring home inspiration for my garden beds. 🔹 What keeps you at TNP? TNPeeps are encouraged to bring authenticity to an environment that hinges on honesty, ethics, and welcoming the hard conversation. Every team decision and company directive makes it evident that TNP values people as they are, enabling employees to explore, learn, and create impactful change. Here, I can live a life of service to my clients and my teammates daily. 🔹 What is your team like? What’s your favorite thing about your team? They’re a wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful group of people. When I started, I was in awe of their genuine kindness…I hadn’t seen anything like it before. For my personality, passions, and goals, there isn’t a better bunch. We support each other in our professional and personal pursuits with equal fervor. My favorite part of this group is the competitiveness that simmers under the surface of an otherwise tame and gentle bunch. Be it board games, battle show game rooms, table tennis, chili cook-offs, canned food drives--we do NOT like to lose. If there’s a competition that can put us in the winner’s circle, we’re there and we’re ready! 🔹 What advice would you give to someone interested in your discipline specifically? Everyone can get bogged down by deadlines, bottom lines, and the stress of learning to design functional infrastructure for society. That’s human nature. But the sooner in your career that you put others first – your team, your clients, the end user of your projects – and you let that guide all your decisions, the larger the impact you will have.
