It’s great to see #TeamRoyal leaders like Michael Pugh, P.E. and Mitch Andrus actively engaging with local stakeholders and state authorities to address coastal restoration issues on Marsh Island in Iberia Parish. The collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and Iberia Parish leaders is crucial for developing effective solutions. Recently constructed projects along the Vermillion Parish Shoreline were toured as well. #CoastalRestoration #LDWF #LouisianaCoast
Today, LDWF Executive staff visited Marsh Island with locals from Vermilion Parish and engineers from Royal Engineering to learn about the issues facing this portion of our coast and to discuss potential solutions with those who have seen the changes over decades.

#TeamRoyal, in partnership with UnLimited Acadiana - Unified Sports, recently participated in the 1st Annual Special Olympics (SOLA) Tip-a-Cop event at Topgolf in Lafayette, LA! Local officers joined SOLA athletes and volunteers to connect with patrons, sharing all that Special Olympics is doing in the local area. UnLimited Acadiana - Unified Sports works closely with SOLA, offering sports and partnership opportunities to local athletes and volunteers, starting as early as age 8! We are incredibly proud of our very own, Madonna Saad, who served as a Guest Speaker on Fundraising at the Region 5 National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Regional Leadership Conference on August 9th. The #NSBE, one of the largest student-governed organizations in the U.S., aims to enhance leadership skills among its members. Madonna shared invaluable techniques and practical strategies to help raise funds for major student activities and events, making the NSBE Annual Convention more accessible and affordable for student chapter members. #Leadership #CommunityImpact
Today I had the amazing opportunity to present for the 2024 NSBE Region V Regional Leadership Conference! (Region V • NSBE) Region 5 consists of Texas Zone, Missouri Zone, Oklahoma Zone, and Louisiana Zone. I got to meet so many great student leaders from universities within each of those states, and some wonderful professionals as well! My workshop was organized to give practical strategies and techniques to raise funds for student chapters. The goal was to provide knowledge from my undergraduate experience and different approaches for further development. It was so rewarding to hear students tell me they had a new outlook on fundraising afterwards! Special thanks to Robin Hayes from the UL College of Engineering office for recommending me for this workshop, Olu Akinyode for contacting speakers - like myself - to make this event possible, and my colleagues at Team Royal for their encouragement. I appreciate you all for making my first Presentation/workshop since my recent graduation possible (and successful)!
