Meet our Director of Land, Brandon Dageford! Brandon joined the TED team in 2022, bringing over a decade of experience in the energy industry. His extensive knowledge and expertise make him a valuable asset, especially in navigating the complexities of land permitting, negotiating contracts, and acquiring land rights. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys quality time with his wife, son and their dog, Frankie Boy, as well as fishing, hunting, golfing, and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. #renewables #land #development

New generating capacity in the U.S. is majority renewables, per the latest data released by Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. "The mix of renewable energy sources (i.e., biomass, geothermal, hydropower, solar, wind) accounted for over 90% of total U.S. electrical generating capacity added in the first two-thirds of 2024. August was the twelfth month in a row in which solar was the largest source of new capacity and during which it provided nearly 100% of all new capacity."

Our team had a great time yesterday at SolarFEST, hosted by the Center for Energy Education in Halifax County, NC! A huge thanks to Mozine Lowe and Reginald Bynum for putting together a wonderful event. It's truly inspiring to see their work to help educate students, community members, and local officials about solar energy in North Carolina. ☀️ #SolarFEST2024 #Solar #Education #Agrovoltaics

Clare Maher, our Senior GIS Manager, attended the Esri User Conference in San Diego! We're grateful to have her on our team! #GIS #renewableenergy
I'm so grateful that I was able to attend the Esri User Conference last month in San Diego! 🗺 🌎 It was incredibly inspiring to learn how GIS technology is being used to tackle real-world challenges like climate change, resource management, public health, disaster response, and urban planning. Hearing about these, and many other ways that GIS professionals are using the technology to better their communities and our world is a great reminder of why I love GIS! I can't wait to continue advancing my knowledge in existing and new GIS technologies and apply it to my role at TED. Specifically, I would like continue enhancing our renewable site selection process with the best tools and data available, and create visualizations that can aid in business decisions. I also enjoyed reconnecting with many of my peers in GIS Users in Clean Energy (GUiCE), and meeting new friends across several different industries. Lastly, meeting Jack Dangermond (3rd picture) is officially a bucket list item that I can cross off! 🗺 Thank you Esri for a fantastic UC experience! #EsriUC2024 #EsriUserConference2024 #EsriUserConference #GIS

Allison Hale, our Development Analyst, attended the Solar Farm Summit to learn how agrivoltaics can be incorporated into solar development projects!
Leaving the Solar Farm Summit full of inspiration and gratitude. As a young developer, it was exciting to hear from interdisciplinary leaders in agrivoltaics - farmers, researchers, developers, government officials. By far, my favorite session of the conference was the Farmer Open Forum. To hear both the panel’s expertise and experience implementing agrivoltaics and the Q&A from the audience was beyond insightful and inspiring. It’s clear that agrivoltaics isn’t just far-fetched reality, even in utility-scale; it is a holistic path forward in the energy transition. Though I am a little bummed that there weren’t any solar sheep at the conference 🤭 I am grateful for the opportunities to learn, think creatively, and to work in the energy transition. Thank you to TED Renewables for your progressive nature and for sending me on this journey!

Our VP of M&A and Finance, Rory Huntly, attended the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Finance Forum this week. Interesting takeaways from discussions at the event!
Excited to represent TED Renewables at the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Finance Forum. Great discussion with the amazing Gina McCarthy, former White House National Climate Adviser. A few takeaways: - Perfection (in policy) is not the goal, so take the good with the “bad” and keep pushing forward. - the success of the IRA is clear with over $350B already deployed. - the constraints due to supply side incentives such as interconnection queue backlogs, supply chain constraints, and permitting are real and need continued attention to resolve. #acorefinanceforum #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #policy #solar #wind #storage #transmission
