🚴♀️ Join us for Bikes4Smiles 2024! 🚴♂️ We're excited to kick off our 8th year of spreading holiday cheer through Bikes4Smiles, an event dedicated to giving back to kids in our Houston community. From November 4th - December 13th, you can help make a child's holiday season extra special by donating a new bike! 🎁 How to participate: 1. Purchase a new bike 🚲 2. Take a photo of your bike 📸 3. Drop it off at the Benmar Office or a Tellepsen jobsite (just give us a call to schedule your drop-off!) Since 2016, we've collected 5,246 bikes, and we can't wait to add even more to that total this year. Every bike donated will go to a child in need right here in the Houston area. Let’s work together to bring smiles and joy this holiday season. 😄 Thank you for supporting Bikes4Smiles and helping us make a difference in the lives of children around Houston. #TheTMeansSomethingMore #Bikes4Smiles #GivingBack #Tellepsen #Benmar #HolidayGiving

Jobsite Safety: Preparing for Colder Texas Weather As temperatures drop in Texas, it's important to keep safety top of mind. Here are three key tips to protect your team this season: 1. Dress for the Weather Layer up and make sure everyone has the right gear for fluctuating temps—gloves, hats, and thermal wear can make a big difference. 2. Watch for Slips and Falls Morning frost and wet surfaces can create slippery conditions. Ensure walkways are clear and everyone is wearing non-slip boots. 3. Stay Hydrated Even in cooler weather, hydration is crucial. Remind your crew to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay alert and healthy. #SafetyFirst #JobsiteSafety #ConstructionSafety #Tellepsen #BuildingHouston

On September 27th, we proudly celebrated the most outstanding projects built by our members at the Denim and Diamonds-themed Awards for Project Excellence (APEX) Gala, held at the Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. This biennial event honors member companies for their consistent excellence in construction, valuable contributions to the community, and commitment to skill, integrity, and responsibility. At the event, we had the honor of presenting Stan Marek, President and CEO of the MAREK Family of Companies, with the 2024 AGC Houston Master Builder Award, that recognized his significant contributions to advancing the commercial built environment in the Greater Houston area. This marks the first time in APEX history that a specialty contractor has received this award. Stan joins a distinguished group of past recipients, including contractors, designers, project owners, and local leaders who have shaped Houston. His legacy of growing his family’s company into one of the leading subcontractors in the commercial construction market, along with his ongoing advocacy for industry-wide initiatives, makes him a true Master Builder. Additionally, for the first time in APEX history, we introduced the Grand APEX Award to honor the top-scoring projects in both the general and specialty contractor categories. Tellepsen received the Grand APEX for General Contractor for their remarkable work on the Memorial Park Kinder Land Bridge & Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Prairie, while Camarata Masonry Systems was honored with the Grand APEX for Specialty Contractor for their exceptional work on Block 58 (“Texas Tower”). Please visit our website for a full list of winners and sponsors, and stay tuned for more recaps from this event: https://lnkd.in/gnz7gTgP
