Empowering the next generation of dental talent? File under: things that make us smile ear-to-ear. We’re thrilled to support the future hygienists at CUNY Hostos Community College. Earlier this month, we donated ten intra-oral cameras to their clinic, building on the success of the internship program we created with Professor Salim Rayman, Professor Annie Chitlall, and Provost Shiangkwei Wang. Through this initiative, 39 senior graduates gained hands-on experience at our NYC Studios — and we were even able to offer 10 of them job offers. On September 10, 2024, I had the pleasure of joining the Dental Hygiene unit, led by Professor Salim Rayman, to celebrate Tend Dental’s generous donation of ten intra-oral cameras to our dental hygiene clinic. This incredible gift is the result of the successful internship program initiated by Professor Chitlall and the Allied Health Sciences Department, led by Professor Charles Drago, in Spring 2024. Through this initiative, all 39 senior graduates had the opportunity to shadow lead dental hygienists at Tend Dental’s local NYC offices, gaining invaluable real-world experience. I’m proud to share that this partnership led to job offers for ten of our graduates! This collaboration not only enhances our students’ education but also opens doors to professional opportunities in the field.
