At the beginning of this month, I stepped into a new role as the President of the Murfreesboro Kiwanis Club. I’m honored to be leading and representing this 103 year-old civic club in Murfreesboro alongside a wonderful board. As a daughter of a Kiwanian, I’ve grown up with my family participating in my dad’s Kiwanis service projects and fundraisers. They were family activities and daddy-daughter lunch dates. As a high-schooler, I was blessed to have a Key Club sponsored by my dad’s club, which gave teens the ability to grow their leadership skills and serve the community amongst other kids and Kiwanians. I eventually became my club’s secretary and then president as well. When I moved to TN seven years ago, I knew I wanted to join Kiwanis but also knew I was in a transitional period of my life. I held off until I moved to Murfreesboro over two years ago, when I looked up the local club and joined. With the support and expertise from our great leadership team and board, I am honored for this opportunity to help steward this club into a greater year of serving the local community. “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.” -Kiwanis International If you’re interested in learning more, being my guest to a lunch meeting, or partnering, please reach out! And if you’re not local, I encourage you to look up your local Kiwanis Club and not only see how you can get involved, but also learn what they are doing for your community and why it matters. https://lnkd.in/eEGdGbDW
