Founding member and President and CEO of Culture+ | President and CEO of Softway | WSJ Best Selling Author of 'Love As A Business Strategy' | Keynote Speaker | Facilitator of the Culture Rise Experience

We had the privilege and opportunity this week to facilitate two Culture Rise sessions with over 100 leaders from Texana Center, a non-profit organization that delivers life-changing services to children and adults with mental health issues, autism, and developmental disabilities. As a parent of a child with autism and special needs, this experience hit very close to home. I’ve realized that it truly takes a village to raise my child, who embodies unconditional love and compassion for everyone, despite how some may treat him. Having the chance to serve those who dedicate their lives to our community, especially to children and adults often marginalized by society, was an incredible honor. I am profoundly grateful to TEXANA for all they do for our community and humanity at large. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am also deeply thankful for my co-facilitators Lydia Hutchings Bardin, Kristen Gerner-Khan, Frank Danna, Chris Pitre, and Jeffrey Ma for spending the last two days with these amazing individuals who tirelessly help and serve our community.       The Texana Center Board of Trustees is excited to announce a significant milestone in Texana Center's continued journey towards excellence in mental health, autism and developmental disabilities services. After a thorough selection process, we are proud to introduce our new Chief Executive Officer, Shena Ureste. Shena brings an impressive 21 years of leadership experience within the Texas community center system of care, having served as Texana’s Behavioral Healthcare Director. Her extensive background underscores her deep understanding of our organization's mission and the needs of the communities we serve. Shena's dedication to our clients, community, and staff perfectly aligns with Texana Center's core values and commitment to empowering individuals to achieve their full potential. As we embark on this new chapter, we express our gratitude to George Patterson for his service and leadership. Under his guidance, Texana Center has achieved remarkable milestones, and we are committed to building upon this strong foundation to further enhance our impact in the community. The Board of Trustees is confident that Shena's leadership will uphold the highest standards of integrity, compassion, and excellence. Together, alongside our dedicated staff, board members, partners, and supporters, we will continue to cultivate a culture based on collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence. We invite you to join us in extending a warm welcome to Shena as she assumes her new role beginning May 5, 2024. We are excited about the possibilities and growth that lie ahead under her leadership, as we remain steadfast in our mission to provide life-changing services to children and adults facing mental health issues, autism, and developmental disabilities.
