Recognizing the heart of Heights Elementary during Hispanic Heritage Month! For over 25 years, Mrs. Hope Muñoz has poured her heart into Heights Elementary, promoting the beauty and diversity of Hispanic culture among students and staff. Hispanic Heritage Month holds a special place in her heart as she shares, “It embraces the culture, the history and the people of Latin and Hispanic Heritage.” From hosting Loteria games to leading vibrant celebrations like Día de los Muertos and Cinco de Mayo, Mrs. Muñoz ensures that Heights celebrates Hispanic culture year-round. Her dedication helps students “feel welcomed and happy they are here,” as they eagerly learn about traditions, enjoy the music and savor the food. As the beloved "Heights Abuela," she is cherished by generations of families. “Parents tell their kids, ‘This is Mrs. Muñoz, she was the Heights Abuela when I was little, she will take care of you,’” she proudly shares. We are so grateful for Mrs. Muñoz’s commitment to enriching our community and keeping these traditions alive for generations to come. Thank you, Mrs. Muñoz, for all you do!
