In 1977, Bobby Gregory founded TDS with one customer, one truck and plenty of determination. With a deep commitment to customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility, Bobby began to turn his independently-owned business into an award-winning and household name. Four decades later, and still under the direction of Bobby Gregory, TDS is now one of the largest independently-owned resource management companies in the country. With more than 1200 employees, TDS has offices in Austin, San Antonio, Georgetown, San Angelo, Alpine, Weimar and Sealy. TDS also operates the TDS Landfill, the Materials Recovery Facility, five transfer stations and several large-scale composting operations. Additionally, TDS owns several other business entities, including Texas Landfill Management, TDS Land Management, TDS Metals, Texas Organic Products and Garden-Ville.

The past week marks an important step for recovery efforts as we’ve deployed a fleet across the Eastern United States, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. We’ve sent generators, laundry, shower and restroom trailers to assist in disaster relief efforts following Hurricane Helene and waiting for the arrival of Hurricane Milton. We have a dedicated team on-site to ensure everything runs smoothly. TDS is uniquely qualified for these efforts, and our expert staff, along with our essential emergency management equipment, plays a crucial role in aiding the recovery of hurricane-affected areas.

This past Friday, we partnered with Austin FC for a Certification Reveal at Q2 Stadium to announce a groundbreaking achievement: Q2 Stadium is now the world’s first soccer-specific stadium to earn TRUE Gold Certification for Zero Waste! This prestigious certification recognizes facilities that divert at least 90% of their waste from landfills, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability. A huge thank you to Austin FC and Okapi Environmental Services for their support in making this possible.
