TWIA Responds to Hurricane Harvey
Hurricane Harvey hit Texas in August 2017, damaging thousands of homes on the coast. In response, TWIA deployed mobile claims centers to Corpus Christi, Rockport, and Port Aransas to help policyholders with the claims process and to answer any questions they might have. In their first month of operations, our mobile claims centers helped over 10,000 TWIA policyholders.
Catastrophe Preparedness Training
Every year, in preparation for hurricane season (June 1 – November 30), we stage a mock catastrophe response at our Austin office. That way, should a hurricane strike the Texas coast, we are ready to deploy our mobile claims centers and staff to the affected areas.
