A fully mechanical heart that could replace the need for organ donation in heart transplant patients? It might sound like science fiction, but Joseph G. Rogers, M.D. recently made history by implanting the first BiVACOR total artificial heart (TAH) in a human patient. Dr. Rogers is president and CEO of The Texas Heart Institute, and a member of CardioVascular Care Providers Board of Directors.
