This. This is why we do what we do…and LOVE it! How could you not?! 😍😍😍

Our Indy COhatch team is thrilled to be weeks away from opening the doors to our 6th location, Polk Stables! Built inside the former stable building for the Polk Sanitary Milk Company, this downtown site features 38 private offices, over 100 coworking seats, and a large event space. Right off the Monon Trail and across the parking lot from Provider Coffee. Our Community Manager, Veronica Tosino, is giving hard hat tours and would love to meet you and show you a preview of the space!

  • Dillinger, as in THE John Dillinger? Cool, but not cool, if you know what I mean. This 100-year-old bank was forced to close its doors after only 3 years of operations due to the robbery. Not cool. The cool part – getting onsite client visits and tours of their projects old and new. This vault’s grandness stopped me in my tracks. “Can I take pictures?” – was my immediate response. The history of the building. The beauty in the refurbishing. The repurposing. As an accountant, we sit in spreadsheets, ledgers, and financial statements all day. The nerd and organizational freak inside me thrive on this. But outside of that freak is someone who loves the diamond in the rough, the potential in the mess, the creative process of the vision, the rebuilding, the roll up your sleeves and get after it. Working with real estate, developers, and the construction industry feels like a match made in heaven. Our standards are always high, but when the passion behind the work is fueled by the same passion that your clients have in their projects/investments – it doesn’t really feel like work. It feels like a chance to be a small piece of history in something so much bigger than who we are. Blessed & thankful beyond measure for this seat. #hereforit #beancounter #financialclarity #development #realestate #WYSWYG #accounting #developers #construction

The moment I decided I wasn’t going to be the girl I thought I should be for everyone else and decided to be the girl I needed to be for myself, my life began to shift. I began to fill the empty spaces of my day with audio books, podcasts, mentorship, therapy, fitness, affirmations and intentionality. I had to stop coasting and resolve to 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙪𝙥. Every day. My whole life, I’ve had a “hustlers” mentality. I love being a career woman. I love to work. I love what I do. I love to learn, expand, grow – professionally and personally. But there are times throughout my life where I found myself giving up on the dream to continuously be better. I felt stuck in so many ways. Passionless, and for me that feels like what I envision death to be. One day – you decide to face the day again. You give the tiny ember inside of you that little puff of air it needs to burn just a little warmer. And the next day – more air. The next, even more. The fire that’s meant to be inside you – is back again. Your courage builds. Your confidence grows. Why? Because you’re showing up. Every. Damn. Day. Even if you don’t FEEL like it. Your faith. Your discipline. Your determination. Your integrity. It’s always been there, but you believe in it again. A quick/funny story. February 25th, 2022 – was my final day in the “corporate” world. I’ll always remember that day. It was the most exhilarating day and the scariest, all at once. I had zero clients lined up. I had zero “sales” skills, or plan on how to go find clients. Before potential client meetings – I would lay on my couch crippled with fear, tears streaming down my cheeks, my mind racing: -         “What if they ask me something I don’t know?” -         “What if no one wants to give me that first chance?” -         “What if I’m not actually smart enough to do this?” -         “What if I fail? Or worse, look like a fool?” I hated every second of it. I’d cry, (I like to say “let it out”), and then I’d put my big girl pants on. Because I knew no matter what, I had to show up. Failure by way of absence has never been an option for me. I was determined to overcome this fear. I ordered 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙜𝙤 𝙀𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 by Todd Herman. I had to step into the shoes of someone I envisioned was strong and confident and fearless to put those big girl pants on. Thank you, Katniss Everdeen. The premise of the book is this person is inside of us all along – however we don’t believe it until we’ve forced ourselves in those shoes so many times we finally realize, they’re actually our own shoes. It’s Friday, my hope for you is that you’re not just coasting, but have conviction to face your fears and go after it. Even if it doesn't look the way others think it should.   Every. Single. Day. 📸 Disruptur always letting me live outside the box. #fearless #entrepreneurship #beancounter #WYSWYG #financialclarity #TGIF #conviction #growth #justshowup

  • The day in and day out.  The extra hours. The late nights. The umpteen email reminders. The workload. The never-ending task list. The recurring monthly deadlines. It’s all for this. This is for all the marbles. We’re placed on this earth to serve. So, serving to our highest ability isn’t what we do, it’s who we are. #teamwork #construction #realestate #grateful #deadlines #WYSWYG #hustler #financialclarity

  • There’s zero doubt, I’m a quirky soul. I think there’s something entirely liberating and free in taking off the mask, letting your guard down and just being. Our workplaces, business meetings, professional relationships need more of this. Egos to the side, hats off (respect), and real conversations. I’m fortunate enough to have clients that feel the same. Last week, a client meeting lead into conversation related to education, raising children, mental toughness (anti-fragile kids), and how we set up the next generation to face their fears and get out there and win. Following the video meeting, I received a message from the client. “Rachel – very productive and FUN conversation today. We are fortunate to be working with you. We are a business, but it’s also a collection of people who wish to lead righteous and full lives and help others do the same.” I get to work with the best of the best. Genuinely, the best. Okay, I’m bragging now. But I’m grateful and I never want to take for granted the “small things” that are really the big things to me. These raw conversations fill my cup. Not only are they real & authentic, it’s a space where I feel welcome. Quirky, nerdy, unique soul that I am. So, thank you. And thank you to Disruptur who continuously pushes and encourages the space to “let it out”; 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 that is. xoxo #thankful #accounting #financialclarity #construction #development #teamwork #authenticity

  • “Reviews and Audits and Tax…..OH MY” 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧-𝙀𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 typically brings dread for clients and even some accountants. I’ve known a number of accountants who despise the audit/review process because they aren’t organized and know they’ll get questions they don’t have the answers to. YIKES. I’ve always enjoyed the audit process because it’s a gauge on our own performance. As an accountant, we should be holding ourselves to these standards on a daily basis – not just when we “have to”. As a business owner, you should welcome the deeper dive and 3rd party look at the books. This provides another level of security in what’s being reported is accurate and true. Yes, these engagements cost business owners more money and typically don’t take place unless there’s a requirement for them. Embrace them, and ensure you have a good accountant on your side. Someone who’s organized and already putting in the work with these standards will aid in keeping these engagement costs low. Then you don’t have to fear the lions and tigers and bears...I mean reviews, audits and tax work. Looking back shouldn’t be nerve racking, but a chance to validate the confidence you have in your team. #audit #taxprep #annualreview #financialclarity #teamwork #yearend #accounting
