The Accounting Initiative’s Post

Dillinger, as in THE John Dillinger? Cool, but not cool, if you know what I mean. This 100-year-old bank was forced to close its doors after only 3 years of operations due to the robbery. Not cool. The cool part – getting onsite client visits and tours of their projects old and new. This vault’s grandness stopped me in my tracks. “Can I take pictures?” – was my immediate response. The history of the building. The beauty in the refurbishing. The repurposing. As an accountant, we sit in spreadsheets, ledgers, and financial statements all day. The nerd and organizational freak inside me thrive on this. But outside of that freak is someone who loves the diamond in the rough, the potential in the mess, the creative process of the vision, the rebuilding, the roll up your sleeves and get after it. Working with real estate, developers, and the construction industry feels like a match made in heaven. Our standards are always high, but when the passion behind the work is fueled by the same passion that your clients have in their projects/investments – it doesn’t really feel like work. It feels like a chance to be a small piece of history in something so much bigger than who we are. Blessed & thankful beyond measure for this seat. #hereforit #beancounter #financialclarity #development #realestate #WYSWYG #accounting #developers #construction
