After more than 23 years and over 1,000 commercial and industrial real estate due diligence assessments, I’ve seen my fair share of projects gone wrong, reports written “poorly” (I’m being generous here), and questionable business decisions. So, to start off 2024 productively, and in an effort to reduce the hurt for real estate investors, developers, attorneys, financers, operators, consultants, buyers, brokers, and sellers of commercial and industrial real estate, I’ve put together some suggested “good practices”. These suggested good practices include “dos and don’ts,” “fun facts,” and “myths vs. facts” related to due diligence for commercial, industrial, and multi-family real estate transactions.
