🌟 Hey everyone! Meet the face behind The Annex of Oakley 🌟 I thought it was about time I introduced myself! I’m Sara Hine, the owner of The Annex of Oakley, a creative gathering and event space in the heart of Cincinnati’s Oakley neighborhood. I opened The Annex as we were coming out of the pandemic. While I’m an introvert by nature, as an entrepreneur and solo parent (single mom by choice), I was craving a place to connect with others in person—a place that sparked creativity and new energy but also a spot where I could focus and care for myself. The Annex of Oakley is that dream come true! It’s a space that celebrates growth and creativity while honoring stillness and nourishment. Being neurodivergent, I also needed a space that helped me avoid getting stuck in the mundane. I love the variety of events and meetings that come through our doors and watching how everyone uses the space uniquely. The Annex has allowed me to create a space I love and share with all of you while also giving me the flexibility to care for my son and myself. I’m passionate about inspiring others to create sustainable work environments and have a particular soft spot for women entrepreneurs, women in business, and moms. My dream for The Annex is to help move the world forward, creating sustainable lives for individuals and companies that are good for humanity and the planet. Thanks for being part of this journey with us. Can’t wait to see how we grow and create together! 🌿 📸:Leah Brady leahbradyphotography #cincinnati #eventspace #eventvenues #cincinnatievents #events #meetingspace #eventplanning #cincinnatieventspace #creativeenrepreneurs #creativespaces #cincinnatiprofessionals #creativebusiness #sustainableevents

Working independently has many benefits for individuals, such as time and money savings, not to mention reducing carbon emissions. Caretakers have more flexibility, people can make time for midday workouts or healthy lunches, and remote work is a helpful alternative for neurodivergent folks with high sensitivities. However, the downsides need to be considered as well. In-person connections are extremely valuable, both personally and professionally. It can strengthen relationships, improve communication, and build a sense of community within a team. Human connection and communication can't be left entirely to the virtual realm. How are you connecting with your teams both virtually and in-person? https://wix.to/D100IAn #newblogpost

Want to build more effective and inclusive events? This one's for the introverts! We all need connection. But for many people, mandatory group participation, on-the-fly discussions, loud lunches, or extended happy hours are the stuff of nightmares. Events that prioritize these outgoing, group-centered activities are biased toward extroverts. The more extroverted among us are at home in big social settings and are more comfortable brainstorming on the spot or making changes on the fly. For them, group participation and group gatherings are a breeze. For the introverts, not so much. They thrive in smaller groups or one-on-one conversations and like to take time to observe and consider a situation before they act or speak. Read more on our blog! https://wix.to/HhDNCVA
