About us
The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1985 dedicated to helping companies with continuous improvement and their pursuit of excellence. Whether looking to learn about lean manufacturing or one of the continuous improvement tools like value stream mapping, kaizen, lean supply chain, lean new product development, lean accounting, or leadership of lean transformation you've come to the right place. AME is practitioner based which means our events and workshops are hands-on and taught by others who have “been there” and want to share their experiences. After Jon Colby infected everyone in attendance with a Zombie virus this morning, Alison Jones took the stage. She inspired leaders to ask deeper questions and utilize six minutes of exploratory writing to allow people with quieter voices to get their uninfluenced inner thoughts and ideas out before they reach for AI to do the thinking for them. Joye Purser CISSP PhD, 2023 ISC2 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner in Cybersecurity, raised awareness and educated manufacturers in the room about the criticality of beating threats to their organization's physical security and cybersecurity, which intrinsically intersect. #AME40th #AMEConference #AMEAtlanta #AMEis40 Kimberlee (Kim) Humphrey Desiree Dolecki, CMP Barbara Clayton Sara O'Hara Jessi Elder Billy Ray Taylor Jeff Fuchs

AME Atlanta 2024 sessions have stimulated many "aha" moments and critical takeaways for attendees to bring back to their organizations. 🌟 The AME Emerging Leaders capstone inspired essential transformation within AME's approach to membership engagement and outreach. 🌟 AME Consortia's "Moving from surviving to thriving in rapidly changing times" captured new interest and ideas for expansion thanks to Dale Gehring. 🌟 Dr. Latitia McCane engaged her audience in her session, "Leading with emotional intelligence" with an insightful quiz. Her encouragement to share results inspired connection and solutions. 🌟 The session, "Nurturing talent and elevating performance" led by Melanie Buck promoted ideas around healthy evolution within the workforce. Anyone else feeling inspired and thoughtful as we soak in the last day of the conference? 🎉 Day 1 at the The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) USA 2024 Conference - Atlanta! 🚀 What a fantastic start! Day 1 kicked off with enthusiasm, meeting friends old and new, and diving straight into inspiring sessions and hands-on learning. The site tour schedule is always a highlight and major draw card for AME members, with site tours happening all week. We were fortunate today to attend a tour at Mitsubishi Electric Trane US, where they openly shared insights into their lean journey. Some highlights: - An insight into the company's journey of continuous improvement over the years. - Incredibly open, knowledgeable team showcasing how they leverage MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement) boards across every department—from warehouse to customer service and even IT. - Discussion into how the company builds alignment and maintains operational excellence through its training and accreditation program. The conference is buzzing with energy, thanks to the blend of practical site tours, dynamic sessions, and opportunities to connect. We wrapped up the day by attending the Welcome Reception, and headed out to a basketball game with fellow AME members—a great way to unwind together after a full day of learning! Looking forward to sharing more insights and experiences from fellow Aussie members and volunteers here with us over the next few days! The mix of tours, sessions, and networking here in Atlanta is proving to be invaluable. ** Photos include long-time friend of AME Darril Wilburn, Sabrina McCorvey, MBA, LSSMBB and her wonderful team hosting us at Mitsubishi Electric Trane US, and experiencing local events in town with fellow AME delegates! What a fun day introducing a couple of The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) participants to how we combined #Lean with #TOC, #6Sigma and #MRP to create a new pull-based operating model that stabilizes planning. We have connected with so many great lean and TOC people. Well done AME on a great conference.
