  • The Cannabis Trail was recently highlighted as a Top Sonoma County Cannabis Travel Experience by Sonoma County Tourism. The Cultural Landmark at Riverside Wellness Collective honoring Brownie Mary is the cornerstone Sonoma County stop on the Trail, and Riverside in Guerneville was also the first dispensary in the County. Brownie Mary's "Bust Heard Round the World" in 1992 took place in Cazadero as she was making a batch of her famous brownies, which she gave out to AIDS patients in San Francisco. It's so wonderful to see the deep roots cannabis has in Sonoma County celebrated alongside amazing modern canna-travel and wellness experiences offered in the area.  Check out the article (link in the comments) and plan your next adventure in Sonoma County! #sonomacounty #travelexperiences #travelthetrail #cazadero #BrownieMary

  • Last week we embarked on a quick but amazing journey along the Trail to install new landmarks, enjoy some face time with our landmark stewards and capture content. Thank You to everyone we visited for making some time to connect and for helping bring the Trail to life! This trip we visited these amazing spots in Oakland, Mendocino and Humboldt: 📍 NUG Oakland is officially the home of a Cultural Landmark honoring Oaksterdam University. 📍 Root'd in the 510 has opened their lounge & hosts regular events in Oakland! 📍 Brooktrails hosts a combo disc golf + ball golf course in the redwoods - thanks Joseph at Emerald Spirit Botanicals for showing it off. 📍 Area 101 is the birthplace of The Emerald Cup - great to chat with Tim Blake and Pebbles Trippet during our visit. 📍 Swami & Nikki hosted us for a Club Swami Virtual Meetup at their gorgeous ranch deep in the Mendocino hills. 📍 Matt at Humboldt Cannabis Tours took us on a tour of Catch a Cloud Farm where we saw beautiful plants and epic views. 📍 Bigfoot Cannabis is now a Cultural Landmark honoring the legacy community in Willow Creek. 📍 Plantshop in Ukiah helped us wrap up the trip with dabs in their outdoor lounge and a little back-to-the-land education. Whew! What an amazing journey. Time for a weed nap!

  • Today is Brownie Mary Day! In 1992, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors declared August 25th as “Brownie Mary Day” in honor of Mary Jane Rathbun's work in legitimizing the medical use of c*nn*bis and in helping suffering AIDS patients ease their pain.  Brownie Mary’s contributions paved the way for the legalization of medical use of the plant across the country, influencing numerous states to follow California's lead with Proposition 215. At “The Bust Heard Round the World” in Cazadero, Brownie Mary was arrested while making her famous pot brownies for the AIDS patients she visited, and the media attention resulting from her bust helped turn the tide of public opinion in favor of medical use. Without Brownie Mary and her allies, we would not have legal access to the plant today. Thank you Brownie Mary!  Mary Jane Rathbun passed away in 1999, but her legacy as a compassionate and courageous activist lives on and we honor her activism and dedication to the patients that she helped. Let’s mix up a big batch of brownies in her honor this weekend!
