At Castle, we support and enforce spaces for folks to be themselves, respect each other, and listen and learn. This includes giving people time off on Election Day to vote or, if they already voted, do something meaningful for democracy, community or their self-care.

Reproductive freedom finds itself at an alarming crossroads on the national stage. While we here in the Commonwealth are lucky to have elected officials who took swift action to protect reproductive care following the death of Roe v. Wade, we still can’t consider ourselves safe from what could come in the future. Castle’s partnership with Dominique L. and the team at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) is extremely important work; and we’re proud to help them on their mission to restore, protect and expand care. Read State House News Service’s Q&A with Dominique Lee to learn more about how PPLM is preparing for the upcoming election and how they plan to push their mission forward no matter who wins on November 5th. https://lnkd.in/e3a2QQNM

We stand with IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción.
As an organization founded and led by Puerto Ricans in Massachusetts, IBA-Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción repudiates the offensive, racist and xenophobic statements expressed yesterday by Tony Hinchcliffe at the Trump rally, which depicted the island and people of Puerto Rico in a deeply and disturbingly derogative way. Puerto Rico and its people, both in the island and the diaspora, have made significant contributions to the United States society. From serving in the US armed forces to contributing to the arts and sciences, sports, academia, education and much more, Puerto Ricans add tremendous value to the everyday American life. Puerto Rico is an archipelago of beautiful islands where its people show their strength and resilience despite its current colonial status. Furthermore, we object to and challenge Hinchcliffe’s assertion about Latinos. Latinos are making immense contributions to the US in every aspect. Latinos are fueling the US economy by doing entry level, low-wage jobs that no one else wants to do across this country. A day without Puerto Ricans and Latinos in the US is a day without essential services and without the amenities that the US public has come to depend on and enjoy, such as agriculture, manufacturing, utilities, construction, food services, health care, childcare and hospitality, to name a few. At IBA, we will continue to elevate our Puerto Rican, Latino and multicultural community by providing access to opportunities for advancing social mobility and economic prosperity, and by elevating our voices and pushing for more representation at every level, particularly in public office. Therefore, we urge Puerto Ricans and Latinos to repudiate these statements, to elevate your voice, and to exercise your right to vote on November 5th.

With the 2024 presidential election around the corner, workplaces across the nation could soon feel the weight of heightened anxieties and unrest. Leaders must act now to prepare for these potential challenges and safeguard their teams. In a recent Boston Business Journal op-ed, Castle’s Principal/Co-founder Sandy Lish and Global View Communications’ CEO and Founder Greg Almieda outline how leaders can do just that. Together, they bring decades of experience in handling sensitive, high-stakes client matters worldwide. "Elections might seem like too much of a third-rail issue in the workplace, but avoiding the potential for conflict ultimately endangers employees’ safety," shared Sandy and Greg. “Acknowledge this potential or be blindsided by it." Outside issues inevitably permeate the workplace, and leaders have a responsibility to support their employees. Without a plan, employees may suffer in silence. With a plan, employees will feel empowered to act. Now’s the time to open channels for post-election discussions and implement a proactive safety plan. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/evpKbPJ6
