Exciting news for our CHRI Scholar, Christopher Cummings, MD, PhD. He was accepted into NIH's Rare Disease Clinical Research Training Program. The year-long program offers instruction in the areas of networking in the global rare disease research community, achieving research success, gaining exposure to patient and family groups, increasing diversity in rare disease patient participation and in the rare disease workforce, and working with small populations. Congratulations to Dr. Cummings!

CHRI hosted its annual Pediatric Cancer Research Symposium today with three keynote speakers, opening statements from H. Dele Davies, Dr. Don Coulter and Ann Anderson Berry, a panel discussion featuring Team Jack Foundation Executive Director Kylie Dockter and multiple research collaboration presentations. The Pediatric Cancer Research Symposium brings together stakeholders across research, medicine, government, philanthropy and patient families to generate solutions to treat and prevent pediatric cancer. Today’s event focused on brain tumors and was led by Pediatric Cancer Research Group co-champion Sidharth Mahapatra. Thank you to all who made our event a success.
