I've had a few trusted colleagues asking me if this is just some sales pitch, so I'm clearing the air here RIGHT NOW. LEGIT: 1) because of a shift we made internally (to reviewing for potential W-9ers monthly), 2) combined with implementing Keeper.app (which made that process so much faster AND it syncs with our 1099 software) 3) --> it has changed EVERYTHING about how we do 1099s and I'm no longer stressed about January. I am not joking or exaggerating. Please come join Chad Pues, CPA and me tomorrow and we'll break it down, as well as give you some top-notch education on the rules around 1099 vendors and amounts. NO JOKE, NO LIE, NO SALES PITCH - I'm just really happy with what we've built and I want you to hear how we did it. Registration link in comments!!!

Hahahaha! I'm so glad Financial Cents got a screenshot of this. It was definitely an honor to be asked to teach everyone at #WorkflowCon2024 to dance the Time Warp (because using FC templates is such a time-saver). Unquestionably the first time I've done a full-on pelvic thrust at a virtual accounting conference. 💃 OH YEAH AND: presenting my own session on Bookkeeper and Tax Pro Collaboration was amazing! No dancing, but I was wearing a sequin jumpsuit and we did in fact have fun. ✨ Can't wait to see what's in store for Day Two. See y'all there! 🙋♀️ https://hubs.li/Q02N7R0W0 ^^ register here if you're not already ^^
If you're not attending #workflowcon2024 right now, you're missing a lot! We've got Nancy McClelland CPA, MAFM busting out some power moves 💃

It's time -- the wall between bookkeepers and tax pros needs to be broken through; we need to see each other as people first, and caring for the client should be our common goal. It sounds naive... but I know we can do it. Join me at the Financial Cents #WorkflowCon on Tuesday, October 22nd from 1-1:30 pm Eastern to learn about how our firm replaced the proverbial wall between practitioners with a workflow accessible to everyone. REGISTER HERE --> https://hubs.li/Q02N7R0W0 Who wins when we tear down the wall? Bookkeepers, tax preparers, and most of all – our clients!

Every year MSN runs my article on Expert Tips For Attending Intuit Connect, and I'm proud to say that this year's column is finally LIVE! https://lnkd.in/gePqnSGT You'll learn everything you need to know to make the most of your conference experience, including info on downloading and using the app; airport pickups; Aria-specific intel; links to RSVP for vendor events and parties; and of course, lots of fun photos from last year (check it out, you might be in there)! Please share with anyone you know who's attending. And if you're a vendor and would like to be in the list of events, just let me know in the comments and I'll update it accordingly. https://lnkd.in/gePqnSGT #IntuitConnect #QuickBooks #ConnectFest

When the Financial Cents folks asked what "operational freedom means to me", I responded with zero hesitation ➡️ working from my pool in Mexico during tax season. 🏊♀️ Yep. For almost five months (...and then I go on vacation). 👙 We run a hyperlocal firm client-wise, but it's 100% remote -- my team and I are located all over the country. I haven't even met some of them in person, and yet they're among my dearest friends. 💖 How? Because we've invested time and energy to streamline our workflows, so that by the time the client books get to the tax team, there's no cleanup work, and no questions about whether "such-and-such" has been reviewed yet. Our bookkeepers know what our tax team needs to keep moving forward and delivers it -- we no longer get mired in questions that could have been answered beforehand, and thus we maximize our most precious tax season asset: our time. ⏳ At my session at #WorkflowCon, I'm going to be sharing how to "Tear Down the Wall: Workflows for Bookkeeper & Tax Preparer Collaboration," where I'll provide actionable steps and proven tools that have helped my team and our clients reclaim our work-life integration. Plus... I get to work in the pool. 😁 Ready to streamline your workflow? Join me on October 22nd from 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM ET. 💻 Register here - https://hubs.li/Q02N7R0W0 Shoot me a note in the comments... what does "operational freedom" mean to YOU? (Or what do you *wish* it could mean if you only could unlock the secrets to making it happen?)

THIS IS MY JAM Y'ALL! Please join me at 1 pm Eastern on October 22nd at the most amazing virtual conference of the year, the Financial Cents WorkflowCon. https://hubs.li/Q02N7R0W0 I started out as a #bookkeeper and later became a #CPA -- which is how it is that I've felt the tension between bookkeepers and tax pros first-hand, from both sides. But it doesn't have to be this way. Accounting is changing; what we do, our roles, our client interaction is changing. Which means the people participating in this awkward dance are changing, too. Technology is taking away some of the drudgery and allowing us to focus on the more human elements of our jobs, and that's to our advantage. And it's simultaneously giving us tools that help eliminate some of the friction. I truly believe that addressing the pain points in this relationship — and transitioning it to one of collaboration — makes literally everyone’s life better: bookkeepers, tax pros, and most importantly… our clients. Come hear me wax poetic about this topic that's so important to our industry as a whole... and pick up a few juicy tips along the way! Please join me at 1 pm Eastern on October 22nd; register here: https://hubs.li/Q02N7R0W0

🙏 I'm so deeply grateful to CPA Trendlines and Liz Farr for featuring me on their DISRUPTORS podcast! I had a wonderful time sharing my thoughts on work-life integration, my MSN column and The Dancing Accountant blog, how to maintain company culture in a remote company, and advice to others on running their own firms. I get real, and vulnerable, and admit all sorts of mistakes, and ask for advice -- but I also celebrate my team and what we've done right. 🙌 ✍️ A key quote: "Care about your team and clients. Be sincere, vulnerable and open. You spend a lot of time at work - surround yourself with kind, funny people that you genuinely like. You can't help people get the most out of their work if you don't know them... I feel weird giving this advice, because if you have to tell someone that they should care about the human beings around them... I'm like... huh?" 😆 📣 No one makes it anywhere on their own, and to that end I shouted-out many important people in my work-life: most notably the incredible team at TDA, as well the inspiring John Garrett, ★Cindy Schroeder & Bookkeeping Buds, ☕ Kate Josephine Johnson ☕, Alicia Katz Pollock, Jason Staats, CPA, Keila Hill-Trawick, CPA, MBA, Dawn W. Brolin, CPA, CFE, ❤️🖤💚Nayo Carter-Gray, EA MBA, Randy Crabtree's Bridging the Gap, Richard Roppa-Roberts' Roundtable Labs, Mariette Martinez, and tools like Hector Garcia CPA & Mark Corum's #RightTool, Keeper.app, Relay & RCReports, Inc. 💘 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gXjBrqEP ⬅️ (Or wherever you most enjoy listening to podcasts: Apple, Google/YouTube, Spotify, iHeart, Deezer, Amazon Music, Audible, Player FM, Audacy, RSS, etc.)
