We are pleased to welcome Jobi Miguel as the new Manager of Hawaiian Culture of Fairmont Kea Lani effective September 30, 2024. As the Manager of Hawaiian Culture, Jobi will oversee the management and execution of the property's strategic cultural plan, ensuring the incorporation of cultural values, concepts, and knowledge across all departments and practices within the organization. Jobi, who was born on O'ahu and raised on Maui, dedicated a significant portion of his life to the study and practice of Hawaiian cultural traditions. He was kāne hula dancer of Halau Kekuaokalaaʻuʻalailiahi from 2015 to 2018 and showcased his talents in the Merrie Monarch Kahiko division during the years of 2016 to 2018. His understanding of Hawaiian protocols and practices was deepened by his spiritual connection to the culture. Since 2022, Jobi has been actively involved with Ka Poholima Kāʻeo, where he leads monthly volunteer days at the fishpond and contributes to the construction of a 2000-foot fishpond wall. We are pleased to announce the promotion of Monay Childs as Housekeeping Manager of Fairmont Kea Lani! Monay started her Dentistry career in 2009 as a Dental Assistant and Office Administrator. With over 7 years in Dentistry, she also held the position of Patient Care Leader for Kids Care Dental and Orthodontics in Sacramento, CA. In 2016, she expanded her skills with the State of California as a Motor Vehicle Representative. She then relocated to Maui and opened her own business, Aloha Maui Cleaning Service specializing in vacation rentals. With over 6 years of experience in cleaning services, Monay will bring her operations management skills and passion for customer service to the Housekeeping department. Most recently, Monay started with Fairmont Kea Lani as a Turndown Attendant since July 2024. We are pleased to welcome Nicola Tremblay as our new Front Office Manager of Fairmont Kea Lani! With over 15 years in hospitality, Nicola brings his passion for navigating change, team building and delivering operational excellence. Nicola started his hospitality career working in restaurants both front of the house and heart of the house. In 2013, he began working as a waiter and later as a bartender for Keg Steakhouse & Bar in Montreal and Laval. After several years, Nicola became the Business Manager for Restaurant Abruzzo Montreal, overseeing promotion, menu design and front of the house operations. In 2020, he was hired as the Restaurant & Banquet Manager for Fairmont Le Château Montebello. Nicola worked in several food & beverage positions before transferring into his most recent position of Assistant Front Office Director. In 2023, he was presented with the Leader of the Year Award! After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Accounting from Azusa Pacific University, Cherrylani returned home to Maui. She utilized her degree, working for private firms such as Alan Bernaldo, CPA and Fusato CPA, Inc. Cherrylani has also been support staff for King’s Cathedral & Chapels’ 100 church locations.
