Exercise. Medication. Diet. And bioelectronic medicine? Feinstein Institutes researchers are studying the science behind weight loss with clinical trials looking at focused ultrasound as a potential alternative to weight-loss drugs like #ozempic and #wegovy. This innovative approach could offer a new solution for individuals trying to lose weight without the potential side effects of medication. This is how we honour our tissue donors! We do it by -literally- rebuilding them in a virtual universe, at nanoscale, and let them live forever. In a beautiful demonstration of quantitative nanoscale anatomy, we were able to show how Cell bodies and single nerve fibers look like in 3D - in a sample of Nodose Ganglion donated by a generous tissue donor. What you see is a 500 micron long and 400 micron thick piece of what we have already imaged and now in the process of reconstruction. We are in the very act of building the future in quantitative anatomy. We are building a method that lets us image entire peripheral neural structures in nanoscale, and quantify its anatomical, histological and morphological features. We are taking cadaveric human anatomy study to a new level. I am so grateful that I landed in such a great lab and among such great people - this was only possible with their help. 🚨 The Feinstein Institutes announces its sixth institute: The Institute of Translational Research. “Our institute’s mission is to be a world-class hub for translational research, bridging bench-to-bedside approaches to find solutions to chronic diseases. Through this endowment and overall support, we are eager to roll up our sleeves and get to work.” — Doug Nixon, MD, PhD, Institute Director. 🌎 🧪 The future of medicine starts with key collaborations. By working together, our scientists will make a positive impact with new treatments for some of the most common diseases, like Alzheimer’s disease, HIV/AIDS, mental health disorders and more. Let's welcome our new friends to the Feinstein Institutes! https://bit.ly/4eXxXLv

Let's B+ about new research from the Feinstein Institutes published in JAMA! 🩸💉 Alex C Spyropoulos, MD, FACP, FCCP, FRCPC led a study providing evidence-based protocols for managing direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) during surgery, minimizing bleeding complications & suggesting new pre and post-op conventions. This could impact approximately 4 million patients in the United States on DOAC therapy. #bloodclots #DOACs #surgery #scientificresearch https://bit.ly/4eMFbBV

Keith, you are an inspiration! ⭐ #bioelectronicmedicine
One year later, after making history by regaining movement and feeling through a double neural bypass, Keith Thomas continues to make incredible new progress. Not long ago, he could only lift his arms about an inch, fast forward to today he can now extend his arm to pick up a cup, grasp it and take a drink using only his thoughts and stimulation. Keith has even regained more sensation in his wrist and arm and can feel the fur of his dog. Watch his transformation thanks to the power of #bioelectronicmedicine and the dedicated research team at The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research.👇

A year after making history by regaining movement and feeling through a double neural bypass, Keith Thomas continues to reach new milestones. Using innovative brain implants, Keith can now grasp objects, lift them, and even enjoy a Starbucks green tea – all with the power of his thoughts and stimulation. At home, Keith continues to build strength and maintain his sense of touch – even feeling the fur of his dog, Bow! This achievement made possible by the dedication of Chad Bouton and his team showcases the transformative potential of #bioelectronicmedicine. Congratulations, Keith!
