Calling all students! 📣 This is your chance to win the Intercoiffure student contest, along with a trip to New York for you and your instructor (Sept 29th & 30th). 🗽 Deadline for the Intercoiffure America Canada Student Contest is approaching and we have all the info for you. 👇 The theme for this year’s ICA Student Contest is sustainability! We are working with the The Green Beauty Community Foundation, Inc., and want to see your creativity and passion for eco-friendly hairstyling. 🌱 ⭐️ How do you enter? (It’s FREE!) Students will need to create a short video (under 30 seconds) explaining what sustainability means to them as hairstylists. There are no wrong answers.📱 ⭐️ How it works: The student finalists, with direction from their school instructor, will be working on one of Pivot Points eco-friendly Cap Series Mannequin to create a design, with their instructor —including any combination of cut, color, and style—to create a hairstyle inspired by sustainability. ♻️ ⭐️ Submit your video by July 26 What are the rules? 📋 *Your 30 second video must be submitted by July 26. * Intercoiffure Student Contest finalists will be chosen based on their submitted videos. *Each finalist will choose a beauty school instructor to work with. *We’ll provide each finalist with a Pivot Point eco-friendly Cap Series mannequin, detailed contest guidelines, and directions how to submit their sustainability-inspired look. *You must be a student at an accredited beauty school when you enter. Students may have graduated by the ICA Fall Atelier date. *All work submitted must be the sole work of the student, with instructor supervision. The finalist entry must include both the student and the instructor name. *Looks can be created using any combination of cut, color (including spray colors), and styling. Reporting back from day 1 on the ground at Capitol Hill 🎤🏛 Day 1 was a success! We met with key offices (Senators Booker, Gillibrand, Murkowski & Murray, Representatives Schakowsky, Rochester & Dingle). We discussed the urgent need to: 👩🏾💅Protect vulnerable populations: Women of color and salon workers are disproportionately impacted by harmful chemicals in personal care products. 🚫Ban PFAS: This class of toxic chemicals doesn't belong in product we put on our bodies every day. 🕵️♀️Mandate fragrance transparency: Consumers deserve to know what's hiding behind catch-all terms like “fragrance”, “parfum”, “aroma” and “flavor”. Supporting the Safer Beauty Bill Package and No PFAS in Cosmetics Act is a crucial step towards prioritizing prevention and a healthier future for all. #SaferBeauty4all! #BCPP #CSC #BlackBeautyProject
