Last Saturday, The GrowHaus lost a dear friend, and our community lost a true champion for local food access, nutrition, and sustainable farming. I am so honored to have worked with Emery Golson since the beginning of my journey in this space. In fact, it was her and her beloved husband and vision partner Miles who were the first funding partners who welcomed me to The GrowHaus and they did so with such warmth, enthusiasm for my leadership, curiosity and wide open hearts. Those who like me, had the absolute privilege to meet and collaborate with Emery know how truly special she was - a quiet revolutionary and passionate leader in trust-based funding. Her humbleness, passion and kindness were her super powers. My heart is with Miles, their beautiful children and family. Such a devastating loss. Thank you for believing in our work, and for planting seeds in all of us, Emery. You will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Denver7 (KMGH-TV) and Danielle Kreutter, for sharing The GrowHaus' plans to launch a Community Food Market Fellowship program! Through the program, a partnership with the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and The Colorado Trust, we'll equip our team members with the skills to manage and sustain community-led food markets. Our team will transform our warehouse into a pop-up community choice market, where 400 households from our home communities of Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea will be able to shop, view cooking demonstrations, and sign up for nutrition classes. You can support this program by making a donation to help us raise $14,000 by Monday—a critical fundraising deadline before Colorado Gives Day! Tepeyac Community Health Center is proud to be a partner with The GrowHaus to help address food insecurity in our communities. Our health center on Vine St in the Globeville Elyria-Swansea neighborhood is a food access point and distributes no-cost food boxes of fresh produce to approximately 150 families every two weeks. As a physician, I have heard from many of our patients how much the food boxes have positively impacted their life, including seeing improvements in their diabetes control though eating healthier.
