The devastation from Hurricanes Helene and Milton is unprecedented, leaving entire communities in ruins and recovery efforts facing immense challenges. Our hearts go out to anyone navigating the aftermath of these catastrophic events. As an organization, we believe in the power of coming together during challenging times and making a difference to those who need it. We are announcing that all Guitar Center stores will participate in a Round-Up matching campaign for October. For every dollar contributed to these relief efforts, Guitar Center will match the donation up to $25,000. With the money provided, the Guitar Center Music Foundation will partner with local organizations to make grants to help rebuild music programs in need. Additionally, donations can be made directly to the Foundation https://lnkd.in/gZPQR8DC. We are thrilled to welcome Mike Schultheis, our new EVP, Chief of Stores for Guitar Center. He will oversee and manage every facet of Guitar Center store operations and customer service excellence and report directly to CEO Gabriel Dalporto. Mike will lead Guitar Center’s expansive 300-plus store network, guiding strategic initiatives and leading a diverse team of 6,000 employees, including retail store operations associates, music instrument repair technicians, and lessons instructors.   Most recently, Schultheis was the SVP of U.S. Stores at PetSmart, where he led the store teams to increase revenues by over 40% within five years. He practices a hands-on leadership style of learning from the front lines by often visiting stores and connecting with associates and customers. His previous experience includes building selling cultures, managing service-based businesses, delivering deep product expertise and training, and enhancing operational efficiencies—all while delivering an outstanding customer experience.   With a proven retail track record of boosting revenue, expanding capabilities, streamlining processes, and developing top-notch teams, Mike will empower our Guitar Center stores to deliver the growth we know we are capable of. He brings over 30 years of experience at well-known companies such as PetSmart and Office Depot. Music education and programs in schools are often the first to go due to budget cuts. That was the case with Newport Elementary School, whose music program lacked the necessary instruments and equipment, leaving the students uninspired and uninterested in music.   Recently, Guitar Center Music Foundation assisted and provided everything needed to get the program up and running!   The Foundation is dedicated to keeping music alive and accessible by providing instruments and equipment to music programs, schools, and non-profits in need. We are proud to support their mission of helping the next generation of musicians spark their creativity and find their sound. #LifeAtGCC #gcmf
