The Health Plan's very own Sheila Kelly was invited to participate in a roundtable with Dr. Rahul Gupta, Director of National Drug Control Policy. The roundtable saw providers from West Virginia's largest hospital systems discussing addiction treatment efforts. Sheila was asked to provide her input as a psychologist and expert on Medicaid services. THP is proud of its exceptional team of health care professionals who help to provide the best service possible to all our members.

West Virginia was the host state for this year’s Southern Legislative Conference (SLC) and The Health Plan was proud to participate and be a sponsor. Our team had the opportunity to join in important policy discussions with legislators from 15 states. The highlight of the event was when hundreds of legislators and other volunteers came together to pack food boxes for THP partner, Mountaineer Food Bank. It was such a fulfilling week and we were happy to help show off our home state of West Virginia. 🍏

During the summer months, Marshall County Family Resource Network teams up with Mountaineer Food Bank to set up a mobile food pantry for the residents of Marshall County. The Health Plan was on site last week to help coordinate the July event as cars drove through the Four Seasons parking lot to pick up healthy foods like milk, eggs, fresh fruits and veggies. The Health Plan’s outreach team is always excited to participate in community events, so be sure to keep an eye out for us! 🍏

While many sunscreens are labeled water-resistant, they still need to be reapplied to keep your skin protected! ⛱️☀️ Water-resistant sunscreens only maintain their SPF protection for 40 to 80 minutes in water. Remember to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, and immediately after swimming, sweating, or towel drying.
