  • As one of the first schools in the country built in a post-COVID era, JLA has uniquely positioned itself to learn from the challenges of remote education and turn them into opportunities for growth. Through strategic partnerships with technology consultants and platforms like ZoomⓇ, we have developed ultramodern classrooms equipped with the latest technology available on the market to create a frictionless learning environment. We are proud to be a leader in the Ed-Tech space and are excited to see where how our classroom technology grows and adapts throughout JLA's existence. https://lnkd.in/eEszCaPJ

  • What an incredible conference, thank you to SAIS - Serving and Accrediting Independent Schools for bringing together educational leaders and visionaries from across the country. We’re honored to have been selected to present on JLA’s innovative approach to classroom technology and hybrid learning, showcasing how we are leveraging these tools to enhance student engagement and learning. We are so fortunate to have the experience and dedication of Mr. Joaquin Infante and Mr. Rafael Pridnacki leading our technology efforts!

  • Did you know? The #Talmud shares that during the holiday of #Sukkot, the Rabbis would juggle at the Simchat Beit Hashoeva in the Temple to express their joy. So what do we do? We learn to juggle too! While our students are still working on their juggling skills, we can assure you that the joy is definitely there! To add to the joy of the holiday, sixth graders got a taste (literally and metaphorically) of what it takes to build a sukkah, using candies and snacks to construct a kosher sukkah. Even the simplicity of having lunch inside the sukkah brings a smile to everyone’s face. Chag Sameach and Moadim L’Simcha!

  • Ms. Tsurit Barhama , a recent transplant from Madison, Wisconsin, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the JLA community. Growing up in Israel, she developed a deep appreciation for the Hebrew language and its cultural significance. Tsurit graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S in Economics and Data Science, and joins us with a professional background in both IT and Hebrew education. This dual background allows her to combine a deep understanding of the Hebrew language with innovative teaching methods to foster a dynamic learning environment. With over a decade of experience teaching Hebrew as a second language, Tsurit combines her expertise in technology and education to create engaging and effective learning environments. Her ability to tailor lessons to students’ individual styles and her commitment to student success have made her a beloved educator. Tsurit finds meaning in helping Jewish children connect with their heritage through the Hebrew language. This has led to her involvement with various Jewish organizations and synagogues, as well as mentoring students for their Bar or Bat Mitzvahs. When she is not teaching, you can find her at the dog park with her dog Henry, paddle boarding, and exploring her creative side through metalworking.

  • Today, October 7th, marks one year since the horrific events that changed Jewish history forever. For many, the thought of commemorating this day while our fellow Israelis remain captive is a painful reminder of the ongoing tragedy. Yet, in the spirit of our people, we find strength in remembrance and hope in resilience. As Jews have done for generations, we turn to music and song to express our pain, our hopes, and our prayers. As a part of today’s special assembly, students watched a JLA produced music video created as a tribute to the lives lost at the Nova Music Festival, a testament to the enduring power of art to uplift and inspire. "We are one blood, one people, unique.” עם אחד May we forever honor and remember the lives lost on October 7, 2023, Am Israel Chai.

  • As the echoes of the shofar herald the arrival of Rosh Hashanah, our hearts yearn for a year filled with blessings. We pray for health, prosperity, and the fulfillment of our dreams. Yet, amidst these hopes, a profound concern weighs heavily upon our souls: the safety of Am Israel, the restoration of peace in Israel, and the swift return of our captive brothers and sisters. May the sweetness of this New Year bring solace to those who mourn, hope to those who despair, and unity to our nation. Let us pray together for a future filled with light, where justice prevails, and peace reigns supreme. Wishing you and your loved ones a Shana Tova Umetuka.

  • Honored to have hosted Professor Rafi Bayer, a visionary leader in healthcare and a pioneer in clinical invasive cardiology at Rambam Health Care Campus. Students had the opportunity to learn about Professor Bayer’s life’s work as both an engineer and a doctor and ask him questions about his journey. Rambam Health Care Campus is a 1,100-bed, world-class teaching hospital in Haifa. Not only does Rambam serve  as the major medical center for all of Northern Israel, they also serve as a liaison facilitating the process of bringing medical innovations to the market.
